It is just twenty miles from West Palm Beach, making it a great rest stop for travelers and tourists. The area gets its name from the twenty-mile marker in the river that is found right at the intersection of the roadways. Lake Okeechobee is just twenty miles from Twentymile Bend in case you and your pup find yourselves there in search of a new natural wonder to admire.
You will need to keep Snowball on a leash, even if you are just stopping for a moment at Twentymile Bend. The area is frequented by truckers looking for a place to stretch their legs, so you and your pup will need to share the pull-off areas and be mindful of your dog’s manners when interacting with other visitors. There are plenty of animal hospitals just 12 minutes east of Twentymile Bend in nearby Wellington, for all of your pup-specific needs!
Best Dog Neighborhoods in Twentymile Bend
Delray Beach is 35 miles south of Twentymile Bend, but it’s definitely worth the drive. Lake Ida Dog Park is located at 1455 Lake Ida Rd. This dog park is a fully fenced area for off-leash fun. The dog park attracts many visitors. No dog will bark alone at this dog park. Small dogs have their own area. Lake Ida has water stations with places for dogs to get hosed off. The surface of this dog park is mostly grass, but there is some dirt too. Waste bags are plentiful. There are numerous covered places for the human companion. A host of shade trees decorates this popular destination.

West Palm Beach is 23 miles east of Twentymile Bend. Dreher Dog Park is located at 1301 Summit Blvd. This dog park is fenced for off-leash play. There is a separate area for small dogs. This spacious dog park is peppered with beautiful palm trees and shade. A covered shelter with benches gives the human companion a comfortable place to supervise There is water on-site. Another dog park in West Palm Beach is CityPaws located at 1412 Lake Street. This dog park has two fenced areas for dogs to play off leash and socialize. The surface of the dog park is mostly grass with large patches of dirt. Water is on-site. Benches and covered areas allow the human companion to rest in the shade or socialize while supervising the pup at play.

Royal Palm Beach is located 12 miles northeast of Twentymile Bend. Crestwood Dog Park is located at 2700 Pine Road. A spacious field of grass is fully fenced. It is divided into three separate spaces. Small dogs have their own special area for safer playtime. This dog park has water for drinking and for rising off a dirty dog. Human companions have benches throughout the park. Large trees are around to provide shade. This little dog park attracts local dogs, and welcomes visitors. There is always room for another dog in the pack. The park provides waste bags for cleanups as well.
Wellington is 9 miles east of Twentymile Bend. Wellington Dog Park is located at 3975 Greenbriar Blvd. This large, grassy, fenced dog park is divided into separate areas for small, medium, and large dogs. There is enough space for everyone to run and play. In the middle of the park there is a covered shelter with benches. Large trees surround this little oasis of people watching their pups enjoy their time off-leash and rolling in the grass. Water is available, The dog park has a hose where dogs can rinse off before going home. Waste bags are plentiful, and waste stations are placed close to where they will be needed.
Jupiter is 37 miles northeast of Twentymile Bend. Jupiter provides out-of-this-world activities for dogs. Jupiter has some beach for dogs to play in leash-free. The beach front located at A1A near Ocean Cay Park is designated as a place for dogs to romp in the waves of the ocean. Dogs run and dig in the wet sand. F.I.N.D. Dog Park is located at 20 River Road. This spacious dog park has a surface of mulch. There is a separate area for the smaller dogs. Shade trees are plentiful. Benches are scattered throughout the dog park. Water is supplied for drinking or rinsing off. This dog park also give dogs access to the intracoastal beach.
