Bettendorf Center is a neighborhood on the southside of Bettendorf, located on the shore of the Mississippi River. Right on the river is a park called Leach Park, a riverfront area with scenic views of the river and open spaces for pups and humans to run freely on. There are 2 picnic shelters, with covered picnic tables, paved walkways, a fishing and boat dock, boat launch, restrooms, water fountains, clean-up stations, and a playground. The McManus Park is in this neighborhood, and has a private open area that is surrounded by trees for privacy and shade. The park has recreational fields, enclosed basketball courts, a shaded trail, benches, and water fountains. Dogs must be on a leash inside both parks.

Southern Bettendorf is a neighborhood close to the center of town, offering suburban neighborhoods and small businesses. In the community is a park called Edgewood Park, which provides a baseball diamond, extra open space, shaded sitting areas, a tennis court, and a playground.
