Best Dog Friendly Neighborhoods in Moscow
Mountain View Park
Mountain View Park
Set at the northeastern border of Moscow, Mountain View Park is not a dog park, but has no restrictions for off-leash activities. Pooches are welcome to play, run, and explore almost 16 acres of grass and dirt as well as the small creek running through the park. Let your mutt dip his paws or jump in the water to cool off and splash around. The area also has a water hydrant, seating, and other pet-friendly amenities, but it is not fenced. Make sure to keep an eye on your buddy when he socializes with other canine friends or decides to explore the perimeter on his own.
Coeur d'Alen City Center
Coeur d'Alen City Center
Surrounded by more than 55 lakes, Coeur d’Alene is a city buzzing with indoor and outdoor activities in the downtown area. Welcoming visitors with a dry continental climate, this place has historic and shopping venues paired with recreational facilities and parks. If you travel with Fido, McEuen Park and Dog Park is a great place to stop and have some fun together! The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and offers an off-leash experience for all canine visitors, providing a fenced area and a simple agility equipment. If this is not enough for your active mutt, you can hit the miles of walking trails in Tubbs Hill! The spot is located right next to the park and offers a 120-acre nature area with breathtaking scenery and historic viewpoints.
West Nez Perce Road
West Nez Perce Road
Being fairly remote from the city center, West Nez Perce Road in the northwestern part of Coeur d’Alene is a great place to visit with Fido at any time. There aren't so many shopping or dining facilities around, but your mutt will love to run in a specially designated area of Central Bark Dog Park. It's adjacent to Northshire Park, has a solid fence, and about 2 acres of off-leash joy and excitement. There is always enough room for every pup, even when it gets crowded on weekends. Apart its grassy surface, the park features benches and water stations for thirsty and hyperactive pooches. Just don't forget those waste bags!
Southeast Sandpoint
Southeast Sandpoint
Dog Beach Park is a fancy and dog-friendly extension of Sandpoint to the southeast stretching along Serenity Lane Trail. This is a special venue where pooches can play and swim off-leash, enjoying the open space and preserved nature around. Make sure to keep a close eye on your mutt here, because the area is not fenced and not protected at all. Visitors love the spot nestling on the Sand Creek with the sandy beach near the Pedestrian Long Bridge, offering easy access to some splashin' good fun. If you manage to pull your mutt away from this doggie paradise, you'll spot a few dog-friendly eateries hiding on the way back, such as Ivano’s Ristorante. This pupular restaurant offers a dog-friendly patio and some delicious local cuisine.
East Marie Creek Road
East Marie Creek Road
The state of Idaho is just packed with different trails rated from easy to moderate to challenge your sporty pooch and give you an un-fur-gettable adventure together. There are plenty of choices, but Marie Creek Trail, stretching to the east of Coeur d’Alene, is one of the closest trails to Moscow (and one of the most beautiful!). This trail offers 10 miles of hiking in Idaho National Forests, estimated as moderate difficulty, and will take about 5 hours to complete. This is the pawfect way to enjoy the scenic views and wild nature around. However, you'll need to keep your pal on a leash while you observe the wild animals that call these forests home!
