North Plummer
Begin your pawtastic day with your pup in the North Plummer neighborhood in the city of Plummer, 19 miles west of Saint Maries, where you will find the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes. This scenic hiking trail begins here and runs through the panhandle of Idaho for 72 miles, ending in Silver Valley. Pups are welcome along any part of this trail and, because it is a paved, 10’ wide trail, it is perfect for all pup-abilities. Along this trail, you will find 17 different waysides, which are dedicated picnic areas, perfect to share a meal with your fur-ever friend.

East Plummer
Just 19 miles west of Saint Maries, in the city of Plummer, is the Haybern State Park. This park is perfect for outdoor adventure with your pawtastic pup on its 8076 acres. Pups are welcome throughout where you can both hike for miles, or bike on its dedicated trails. There are also places where pup can go swimming, or you put in your boat for a cruise around the lake. This is also prime fishing ground, so don’t forget to take your pole. Restrooms are provided, but be sure to bring plenty of water to share.

Harrison
The Harrison neighborhood in Harrison is just 18 miles northwest of Saint Maries, and is home to Harrison Park on Lake Coeur d’Alene. It is the perfect place to wander on lots of open, grassy areas, or take a blanket to relax with your fur-ific friend during the summer events held here! There is a nice pavilion and lots of picnic tables along the lake. Be sure to keep Fido on leash. When you both get hungry, head over to the Gateway Restaurant in the Gateway Marina which offers live music and 7 outdoor pet-friendly tables.

Worley
Visit the Mowry State Park in Worley, just 25 miles northwest of Saint Maries. Your pup will love going hiking here on its miles of nature trails. It is the perfect place to let Fido run off leash, and there are areas where you can put in your boat in the lake. Find the out-of-the-way locations where your fur-ever friend can jump into the lake and splash around. For an extended stay, how about bringing your camping gear and pitching a tent? Your pup will love relaxing in the outdoors. Be sure to pack plenty of water for this rural outing.

Springston
Looking for outdoor fun? Then head to the city of Springston, located 18 miles northwest of Saint Maries. The Springston Trailhead is your ticket to great hiking with views of the Thompson Lake and Anderson Lake, which this trail runs nearby. Some areas along the trail are very steep, so bring your pup who is adapted to these conditions. The entire trail is very primitive, so plan accordingly. There are no restrooms, and nowhere to get water, so be sure to pack plenty to share. It’s a great place to bring binoculars and a camera.
