If your pooch is craving some time in the great outdoors, grab the leash and head over to the Canfield Mountain Natural Area. Located in Coeur d’Alene, its just five minutes from Dalton Gardens. The park sprawls across two dozen acres of pine covered land. Your pup will love traipsing through the forest and searching for sticks and little critters. The mile and a half trail is used by both mountain bikers and hikers, so keep a close eye on your pooch. Since there are a few steep areas, your canine hiking buddy will get a good leg workout. Be sure to bring plenty of water, as you don’t want a thirsty dog on your hands!

Everyone knows dogs and parks are a match made in heaven. So it’s not surprising that Shadduck Lane Park will make your pooch a happy hound. Not even five minutes from Dalton Park in the nearby town of Coer d'Alene, this pawsome park has more than enough lawn for your pup to wander around. Let their nose be the guide as you meander around the grass or take a brisk walk around the paved walking path. Since this park features sport courts, a playground, and a horseshoe pit, two legged family members will also have plenty to do. There’s also a picnic shelter, so pack a lunch and stay for the afternoon. Your pooch will thank you!

Coeur d'Alene Place
Next time your pup needs a walk, clip on the leash and head over to Bluegrass Park. It’s conveniently located 10 minutes directly west of Dalton Gardens in Coer d'Alene, and stretches across 11 acres. Your furry friend will love trotting around the furrific paved walkway that circles the park. For a less structured walk, your pooch can aimlessly roam around the massive lawn before relaxing under a shade tree. Since this is a pupular park, your pal will have the opportunity to socialize. If you have two legged children in tow, check out the pawsome playground and splash pad. The park also features sport courts, a disc golf course, and a picnic shelter.

Is your pup bursting with energy? Then it’s time for a trip to the Cherry Hill Dog Park. Located inside Cherry Hill Park, this Coeur d’Alene off leash area is less than 10 minutes from Dalton Gardens, so your pup won’t have to drive far to romp around with their four legged playmates. Watch as your pooch runs wild and has the time of their life. Water is available for pets and people, which is good because your pup will definitely work up a thirst. When your doggo is finished playing, clip on the leash and stroll around the main part of Cherry Hill Park. Since it has a BMX track, sport courts, and a beautiful September 11 Memorial, this park is always bustling.

Lunceford Park
Treat your pup to a walk in North Pines Park. Located five minutes south of Dalton Gardens in Coeur d’Alene, this neighborhood park is the perfect spot to spend some quality time with your four legged BFF. It has a playground, basketball and volleyball courts, and a picnic shelter. But your furry friend will be more interested in the wide open grass area. Cruise around the lawn so your pooch can get some much needed exercise, then chillax in the shade under a tree. There’s also a short paved walking path at the east end of the park for your dog to check out. No matter what you do, your dog will love hanging out by your side!
