Downtown Villa Park
Villa Park is a small village in DuPage County located within the Chicago Metropolitan Area. This quaint locale is a furrific destination for nature lovers! Illinois Prairie Path, one of the longest and most popular trails stretching through Cook, DuPage, and Kane counties, can be easily accessed in Villa Park. The trail consists of five connected trail segments and three branches coming together at Volunteer Park in Wheaton. But if you do not want to exhaust your pooch and need something moderate, Great Western Trail, originating in Villa Park, is a comfortable solution for less experienced hikers.

Spring Avenue Southeast
Glen Ellyn is a western neighbor of Lombard with nature preserves and a busy commercial area in the southern part of town. Stop by Spring Avenue and let your pup stretch their legs at Spring Avenue Dog Park, which is part of Glen Oak County Forest Preserve. This is a fenced and well-shaded doggy spot to have a blast with friends and visitors year-round! The place is packed and usually very busy, except some occasional periods in the afternoons after 2 p.m. Roomy, but not split in two areas, the dog park is perfect for large and medium-sized mutts! Bring your own water, and don't forget about the permit, which you'll need to obtain before visiting.

North Schiller Park
Schiller Park is one of the villages in Cook County, Illinois, located near O’Hare International Airport. The northern part of the city is home to a hidden gem that your pooch will fall head over paws for -- Bark Park! This small but well-maintained dog park features a roomy area for running off-leash, benches in shaded spots, drinking water fountains for canines, and even a double-gated entrance! Once your buddy is worn out, share a drink and a steamy slice of freshly made pizza in Hubcaps Pizza Bar and Grill O’Hare. Dogs are welcome at one of the dog-friendly tables overlooking the streets.

East River Road
If you turn west from Tri-State Tollway to Central Road on your way north, you will find the alluring area of Camp Pine Woods, a natural park with lots of dog-friendly walking trails, wooded areas, picnic spots for comfortable breaks, and an abundance of wildlife. Keep your pup on their leash at all times, except in the best part of the area – Beck Lake Dog Park. This is a massive dog park at 44 acres, and it has almost everything a happy pooch may need! Feel free to roam and explore wide open fields, let Fido dip his paws in the swimming pond, or exercise with furry friends in the training enclosures! There is enough space for everyone here.

Zenith Drive West
If you had a blast with your pup at Beck Lake Dog Park in Des Plaines, you'll be happy to know there's another dog-friendly spot within walking distance! Community Park West is connected to Beck Lake Off-Leash Dog Area. Community Park features a cool, 6-acre off-leash area with benches, shade, and two separate areas for small and large mutts. The permit and an electronic key are required for entering, as well as for getting inside Beck Lake Off-Leash Dog Area. Remember that pooches must stay leashed within Community Park.
