Crab Orchard Estates
Crab Orchard Estates is a small community near Carterville, located on the northwestern shore of Crab Orchard Lake. This community includes some local businesses, houses, and trailer homes. You can enjoy a peaceful walk around the block with your pup here. If you want to share an outdoor vacation with your furry pal, head just two miles east to Crab Orchard Campground. There are RV hookups, camper sites, and tent sites available at this National Wildlife Refuge facility. Dogs are welcome to join you here, provided that they're on a leash no longer than ten feet and that you clean up their waste.36
Carterville City Center
Carterville's City Center is a mixed-zone neighborhood with residential streets, a commercial downtown area, a country club, and some churches. There are sidewalks along the streets where you and Spot can take a daily stroll together. For a hike or jog around some water, head to Cannon Park off Cannon Drive. This pawesome facility includes a playground, athletic fields, tables, and a paved trail that loops around the lake. Stretch your legs with your four-footed pal and share a snack at one of the tables here. Make sure that you keep your fur baby on a leash and remember to pick up any droppings.24
Reeds Station
The Reeds Station neighborhood is located about 4.2 miles west of Crab Orchard Estates. This community includes a shopping district, residential areas, and religious establishments. There are quiet blocks here where you can take a stroll with Spot. If you want to spend some time in the park with your four-footed pal, head over to Attucks Park off North Wall Street. You'll find a playground, athletic facilities, a picnic area with grills, and a walking path here. Jog around the fields and open space with your canine pal to get some exercise. Downtown Carbondale
Located about 4.5 miles west of Crab Orchard Estates, Downtown Carbondale includes residential areas, a historic district, a hospital, and a dairy. Walk through the West Walnut Street Historic District to see buildings from another era. If you're looking for a place to go walking with your furry friend, check out Oakdale Park on North Oakland Avenue. There are trails that wander through nature, a picnic area with grills, and a playground here. Bring some burgers and have a barbecue in the park with Fido. Dogs on a leash up to eight feet long may join you here. Make sure you clean up any messes.

The village of Cambria is just four miles northeast of Crab Orchard Estates. This small community includes some local businesses, houses, trailer homes, and a city park.
