Known as the place where “President Lincoln learned the law,” Boonville is located about three hours south of Indianapolis. This small-town features family and Fido-friendly activities where pups and their parents can enjoy the outdoors and socialize with neighbors. When your pooch needs medical care, there are two qualified veterinarian clinics in town.

The Boonville City Lake is a pupular destination featuring large open areas and a 15-acre lake. You can walk along the concrete path with Fido and admire the plants and flowers in the well-maintained gardens. Strolling around the lake is also fun for your pup, or you can relax on the banks and go fishing. If you are spending the day with the kids, there are three playgrounds where they can play while you and Fido sit on a bench and chat with friends.

If you are looking for other destinations where you and your pup can walk, check out Bullivant Park near the high school. You will need to keep Fido on his leash, but you can stroll around the area and let your pooch stretch his legs. Breckenridge Park on West Elm Street is another option where you and Fido can stroll and enjoy a sunny day. Just be sure to bring along your own doggie waste bags.

Whether you are visiting family in the area, or you enjoy the friendly neighbors in a small-town, Boonville is a great place for you and Fido
