Clifty Falls
It will take you and your pup about thirty minutes to reach the Heritage Trail of Madison, located just outside Clifty Falls State Park. You will be able to walk along the old railroad tracks, as they are still in place through most of the trail. The walk is mostly through dense forest and comes out at the water treatment plant. This is where you have a choice to make. You can take the switch back, which will take you right back where you started, or you can continue on north. The north part of the trail leads up a steep grade. It is challenging for most walkers, and is known as the steepest grade of rail line that can be found in America. Main Street
Madison Riverfront Dog Park is set up just for you to sit and enjoy some time with your dog. This is a members-only park that allows your dog to get off of his leash and just run for a while. You can get your permit online or at the city office. They do have day passes for visitors of the area. Your dog will have access to drinking fountains, and the cleaning stations are fully stocked. You can sit in the shade and chat with other pet parents if you would like. All of this fun is a thirty-minute trip from East Enterprise.24
Downtown
The Downtowner is located right in the heart of all the action. The building is part of history with its classic columns and beautiful architecture. You and your dog can enjoy lunch on the balcony or at any of the outside tables. The fare is classic sandwiches. The selection rotates from roast beef sandwiches to classic clubs. The chicken noodle soup is made from scratch everyday and paired with fresh salads. You and your dog will love every bite! This delicious place is located a little under thirty miles from East Enterprise and is totally worth the drive.12
Broadway
Imagine dining in 1834 at one of the finest hotels of the time. You and your pup can do just that! Well, almost. You can't time-travel, but you can dine at one of the first hotels in Indiana, the Broadway Historic Tavern. Its beautiful architecture has definitely stood the test of time. The bar is completely stocked with anything that you can imagine. The fare is inspired by cuisines and culinary styles from all across the globe. The locals rave about the Thai Ahi Tuna. The chef recommends the Yellow Fin Sashimi. All of this deliciousness is only a thirty-mile drive from East Enterprise.
Southeast Versailles
If you don't mind an hour or so in the car, then you can bring your dog on over to the Dog Park at County Park. It is a full-service dog park where you can let your dog off of his leash and just let him run and play the day away. There are some trails that you can enjoy, but your pup needs to be on a leash to explore them with you. There are plenty of things for the whole family to do here, making it the pawfect place for your next family daycation!
