When visiting Florence, there’s no better place to stay than Belterra Casino. You’ll find everything from delicious restaurants to exciting shows to table games and slots. Fur-tunately, this local hotspot has several pet friendly hotel rooms. Let your pup get some R and R in one the deluxe rooms. Kennels and an outside pet area available to make your dog’s stay pupstastic. If your pal needs some exercise before turning in for the night, take a stroll in Markland Dam Park. This park overlooks the Ohio River and has beach access. A walk in this park is a pawsome way to end your pup’s day.

East Vevay

East Vevay is home to Paul Ogle Riverfront Park. Located just eight miles away from Florence in the nearby town of Vevay, this is a pupperific day trip destination. Bring your four legged friend over and enjoy some time on the scenic Ohio River. Boat ramps are provided. If you’re taking your pooch out on the water, give her a quick safety talk. If your pup prefers the dry land, clip on her leash and take a stroll around the park or find a spot on the shore and just relax by the water. There are plenty of picnic tables, so bring your lunch. Don’t forget a bone or two for your fur baby.

West Carrollton

General Butler State Resort Park is situated about 20 miles southwest of Florence in Carrollton, Kentucky. Pack up your furry friend, head over the bridge and pay this gem of a park a visit. With over 700 acres to explore, your pup will be in paradise! Trails range from .25 miles all the way up to 4.5 miles, so you can find one that meets your dog’s energy level. Fur-tunately, for a small fee, pet friendly rooms are available at the main resort lodge. So if your pal is having too much fun and doesn’t want to go home, stay the night in one of the cozy Butler Lodge rooms or nearby cottages.

Northeast Patriot

The town of Patriot is only nine miles northeast of Florence and is a great place to spend some quality time with your furry BFF. Leash up your pooch and follow the paved walking trail that surrounds the local YMCA building. You’ll enjoy the leafy canopy of the surrounding trees and your pup will love spotting the squirrels and hunting for the perfect stick. When you finish this trail, wander through the nearby streets until you find the Patriot Memorial Park. Although small in size, this park pays a moving tribute to our country and the noble veterans.

Clifty Dr/ Lanier Dr

Looking for a pupstastic adventure? Pack up your pooch and head over to Clifty State Park. Located 30 miles west of Florence in the Clifty Drive and Lanier Driver neighborhood in Madison, this spectacular state park is sure to provide plenty of outdoor fun. Dogs must be leashed but are welcome to join in as you explore the park’s rugged terrain. Trails range from easy to moderate and go from just under a mile to three miles. Your furry friend will love to feel the dirt beneath his paws as he wanders through the wooded scenery. Depending on the time of year, the park’s waterfalls may be roaring or just trickling. Either way, your pup will have a woofin’ good time!
