West Elkridge
Rockburn Branch Park in Elkridge is the perfect place to take your pooch. A massive 415-acre park, it has 9 miles of pathway and trails that wind through woodlands, freshwater marshes and valleys. As might be expected of a park this size, there is an abundance of playing fields, including ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, and even a BMX track! There is also a picnic pavilion which is available on a first-come-first-served basis, and a children’s playground. With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder that Rockburn Branch Park is a popular park for sports lovers and nature lovers alike!

East Lake Shore
Situated on the Chesapeake Bay, Downs Park occupies a massive 236 acres and offers a variety of natural and recreational activities, including more than five miles of paved and natural trails. Even better for you and your doggie, located within Downs Memorial Park is the Downs Memorial Park Dog Beach -- a fantastic place for you and your pooch to explore the beach or frolic in the water (only doggies in the water though; humans have to stay on the beach!). Downs Park also has a fishing pier, a children’s playground, and two basketball courts. And, of course, it’s all topped off with an amazing view of the Chesapeake Bay.

South Laurel
Maryland City Dog Park is a popular dog park in Laurel, MD. It’s located within the larger expanse of the Maryland City Park. The park is a fenced, off-leash dog park, with separate areas for large and small dogs, so everyone gets to have a good time running and frolicking. Outside of the dog park, Maryland City Park has plenty of amenities, including several baseball fields, soccer fields, basketball courts and tennis courts, as well as a hiking trail, just in case Spot isn’t completely worn out after the dog park! Don't forget to bring plenty of water and waste bags with you.

Taylor Village
The Worthington Off Leash Dog Park in Ellicott City has everything you could want in a dog park. No matter what type of dog you have, they will be catered for here. There is a 4.5-acre area for large dogs, and a one-acre area for small, timid, or elderly dogs. The park has beautiful open areas, benches, and lots of shade, as well as a dog rinsing station. The park is clean and well-looked after, and it's very secure with two double-gated entrances in both large and small dog areas. There is also a dog water fountain, as well as a plentiful supply of waste bags and hand sanitizer.

If you and your pooch have a sweet tooth then one place in Elkridge you won’t want to miss is Kupcakes & Co. This is a family-run business and is a past winner of the Cooking Channel show, Cake Hunters. They offer a dazzling array of freshly-made cupcakes, including red velvet and birthday cake, as well as macaroons, cookies, and even homemade doggie treats! Kupcakes & Co. is a pet-friendly store, and you can take your cupcakes and doggie treats and sit at one of the outside tables. They open Tuesday through Sunday, and are closed on Mondays.
