Eastown is a neighborhood in Grand Rapids that’s just under 14 miles from Belmont. This neighborhood is where you’ll find the Hillcrest Dog Park, a fenced-in dog park made for pooches who want some freedom to run off their leashes. Just under 40 miles from Belmont is the North Shore Drive area of Ferrysburg. This spot is a great place to visit when you have the day off and want hours of adventure with your pooch. Ferrysburg Dog Park is one of the most pupular places around where your dog can meet others, play off his leash, and even find some new toys to play with. Prowl around the North Ottowa Dunes, an incredible place filled with woods and trails that allow you to explore with your furry friend. Southwest of Ferrysburg is Grand Haven, MI. Its Grand Haven State Park area is about 41 miles from Belmont and is one of the few places around where you can bring your dog to enjoy the beaches of Michigan. Grand Haven City Beach is in this neighborhood, allowing leashed dogs to join their owners in the sand and water during off-peak days and times. Near the city center of Grand Haven is the Franklin neighborhood, which is a little over 40 miles from Belmont. Franklin has several paw-friendly restaurants for you to choose from, like Pavilion Wharf Bar and Grill, which serves up classic American food like chicken and burgers and has sidewalk tables for you and your pooch to enjoy a meal together. Johnson Street Forest is nearby, offering several acres of forests in which unleashed dogs are welcome. You can also check out the Grand Haven boardwalk, which brings you along several shops and restaurants as you take in the scenic sights of the Grand River.
