Westgate is located in the northern part of Comstock Park and is a friendly neighborhood welcoming plenty of families to the area. The area is known for its walkability, which is great for pet parents living in an apartment or without backyards. The nearby park, Westgate Neighborhood Park, is a local favorite and welcomes canine residents for a quick stroll, so long as pets remain safely on a leash no longer than six feet. Westgate is easily accessible from the rest of the city, as it is pressed against SR 37, which connects to the interstate just south of Comstock Park.

York Creek

Thinking of relocating to the area? There are plenty of dog-friendly apartments available in York Creek, so Fido will have plenty of furry neighbors to befriend. Named for the small river in the area, York Creek is in the busier part of town, which is perfect for younger pet parents who like to stay within walking distance of necessities. Its residents consider this calm and quiet neighborhood a hidden gem, as it offers plenty of privacy to locals and their neighbors. The creek brings lovely background sounds and intriguing wildlife to this quaint little neighborhood, and it's the pawfect place for Fido to splash on a hot day.

West River

West River Drive encompasses the bottom half of Comstock Park and offers a wide range of places for new residents to choose from when settling down. Many pet parents opt for the areas closer to downtown, which allows for plenty of friendly introductions with other residents and their four-legged companions. For lunch, you can bring your pup along and take a seat at one of three pet-friendly outdoor patios alongside Alpine Avenue. Dwight Lydell Park lies toward the east side of town, and is a great place for you to take Fido for a walk after work, so long as you keep him leashed and clean up after him!

Fulton Heights

Fulton Heights

Nestled on the east side of Grand Rapids is a small little neighborhood known as Fulton Heights. Less then 15 minutes away from Comstock Park, Fulton Heights is a great place to visit for a day trip as it is home to the Hillcrest Dog Park. The locals and residents from nearby areas in Grand Rapids frequent this bark park. It is located alongside the Fuller Park, so you can bring the whole family to hang out and play! Just be sure to clean up after your pets and keep an eye on them while in the park. Otherwise, let them run leash- and care-free while you relax nearby.
Westside Connection

Westside Connection

Westside Connection is a huge neighborhood with a population that's ruffly the same as the entire city of Comstock Park. As the name suggests, this neighborhood is on the opposite side of Fulton Heights, on the west side of town. Grand Rapids is separated down the middle by the Grand River, which offers its own fun things to do during spring and summer months. For everyday exercise and fun, head to the Covell Dog Park towards the edge of Westside. This off-leash park boasts one full acre for your pets to enjoy off-leash alongside the other four-legged residents of Westside Connection.
