This neighborhood is home to Dorr’s one park, Dorr Township Park. Here, you and your pup can go for on-leash walks on the park’s flat and paved paths that go past sports fields and open meadows. Your dog will love seeing all the sights at this park! After you’re finished with your walk, go for lunch with your dog at B.C. Pizza. This pizzeria serves handmade gourmet pizzas with a wide variety of topping options. They also have salads, sandwiches, and wraps. Dogs are welcome to join you at B.C. Pizza’s outdoor tables.

Midtown

If you want to let your dog run and play off-leash, head over to Hillcrest Dog Park in Grand Rapids’ Midtown neighborhood. Located 22 miles from Dorr, this dog park offers separate fenced-in areas for big and small dogs. Both areas have plenty of trees to keep your dog cool on hot summer days, and there are benches for owners to relax on while their dog plays. There’s also a seasonal water station. If all that playing makes you and your dog hungry, take your pup over to Nantucket Baking Co. This bakery welcomes dogs at the outdoor tables, and serves delicious cakes, pastries, and freshly baked bread.

Yankee Springs Recreation Area

Looking for a great park to hike in with your pup? Head over to Middleville’s Yankee Springs Recreation Area, which is about 17 miles from Dorr. Here, you and your dog can trek on hiking trails that go around the park’s nine lakes and pass by unique geologic formations. One of the most popular sites in the park is the Devil’s Soup Bowl, a glacially-carved bowl in the ground that’s about 80 feet deep. To reach this unique formation, take the 3.6-mile Hall Lake Trail. This trail also takes you past the beautiful Hall Lake and through lovely wooded areas. This unique park is a pawesome place to spend the day with your furry best friend.

144th Avenue

If you’re looking for another fun off-leash area, head to Quincy Dog Park. This dog park is about 28 miles from Dorr, and it has separate fenced areas for small and large dogs. Both areas are double-gated to keep your pup safe and secure while they’re playing. Inside the dog park, you’ll find grassy fields that are perfect for running and playing. There are also lots of picnic tables for owners to sit at while their dogs play, and there are drinking fountains for pups. Bring a tennis ball or a couple toys for your dog, and have a furrific time playing with them here.

Ottawa Beach Road

This Holland neighborhood is home to another great off-leash area, Park Township Dog Park. This dog park is about 26 miles from Dorr, and it has separate areas for large and small dogs. There’s some fun agility equipment for your dog to play on in the park, and drinking water is available for dogs in the summer. After you’re finished playing at the dog park, treat your pup to lunch at nearby Dune Dogz & Treats. This casual eatery offers hot dogs with a wide variety of topping options. Dogs can join you at Dune Dogz & Treats outdoor tables, and there are treats and water bowls available for your pup.
