““Dogs do speak, but only to those who listen””
My name is Jennifer, and my pup’s name is Brody. He is a 4 year old Shih Tzu-Schnauzer mix & my best friend! I am the mother of 4 grown children, I live & work in the Plymouth-Canton area, have incredible love & respect for all of our four legged friends.I have always had a deep love for animals. While not all pups are initially friendly and cuddly, I’ve yet to meet one that if given time and patience, was not accepting and lovable.

“Pets are family!”
Growing up with dogs my entire life, it was clear I had a passion from a very young age. Throughout the years, I have volunteered at multiple shelters, worked at quite a few doggie daycares/boarding facilities, a veterinary office, and even went to school to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant! I can't ever imagine a life or a job that doesn't involve dogs. After all, if you LOVE what you do, you don't work a day in your life!!

Milan is a city in Michigan that is part of both Monroe and Washtenaw counties. More than 6,000 people call Milan home, and the city was founded in 1831 and then incorporated in 1967. Milan got its name from French settlers who wanted to make wine there, so it only seemed right to name it after an Italian city known for its wine. Today, Milan is known for its mix of residential properties and working farms. Many homes in Milan have large yards that are ideal for dog owners, and while there isn't an off-leash dog park in Milan, there are several nearby.
Mill Pond Dog Park is less than 10 miles from Milan, located in western Saline, Michigan, in Mill Pond Park. There are several things that make this park such a special place, and the first is that it's a waterfront dog park where your dog can swim and play to their heart's content. Three sides of the one-acre dog park are fenced in, and the fourth side offers dogs water access. The rest of the 54-acre community park has other amenities like a boat launch, play structures, picnic facilities, wooded walking trails, and sports fields. Mill Pond Park is a great place to go with your dog, and there are many other dog-friendly activities nearby!
Ann Arbor is a large city in Michigan with a population of more than 120,000 people. It takes less than 20 minutes to get to south Ann Arbor from Milan, and in the southern part of the city, you'll find the Swift Run Dog Park. If you and your dog love a particularly large dog park with extra room to run around, this is the one for you! Swift Run Dog Park is a 10-acre dog park with separate big and small dog areas. This park has seating, water bowls for dogs, and waste disposal items to help keep it clean. All of the dog parks in Washtenaw County require obtaining an annual off-leash dog permit before you can visit.
There's another great dog park in Ann Arbor, and it's just a 25-minute drive from Milan in Ann Arbor's northside. Olson Dog Park is located within Olson Park, which is a 54-acre park with many beautiful, natural features. There are wetlands and woods in the park, as well as recreational activities like rock-climbing, sports fields, walking trails, and mountain biking. There is also an off-leash dog park within Olson Park, and it's open from 6 AM to 10 PM every day. Like other dog parks in the area, you will need to obtain an annual off-leash dog permit prior to your visit.
The Wayne County Dog Park is just over a 40-minute drive from central Milan, in northeastern Westland, Michigan. This three-acre dog park is part of Hawthorne Ridge Park, and you will need to purchase a permit at a county office ($25 for non-residents, $20 for residents) before you head to the dog park. There are separate big and small dog areas in the park, and there is also agility equipment and two covered seating areas. The Wayne County Dog Park is open from dawn to dusk every day from June to April. There are also plenty of hiking trails surrounding the dog park that your dog can join you on if they're leashed.
Northville is a city in Michigan with a population of nearly 6,000 people. In about half an hour, you and your pup can drive from Milan to southwest Northville. This is where you'll find Northville Community Park, which has many amenities that you and your whole family can enjoy. In addition to the playgrounds and sports facilities, there is a four-acre fenced off-leash dog park with lots of shade and seating! This park used to be reserved just for Northville residents, but it has recently been opened up to visitors as well, and everyone needs to obtain a pass before they visit.
Northville, Michigan is home to another pawesome dog park known as the Cady Street Dog Park, and it's half an hour from Milan in south-central Northville. This is a 0.7-acre dog park that's open to residents of Northville, and there are some special requirements you'll need to fulfill to attend. Northville believes that, by having dog owners attend a 30-minute class before they can obtain a dog park permit, dog parks will be safer and more enjoyable for everyone. Cady Street Dog Park is a quiet, peaceful, and clean park that you and your dog will both enjoy.
