The rural town of Saucier is just twenty miles north of Gulfport, and features a quaint hometown atmosphere for you and your pup. If your pooch needs medical attention, there is one veterinarian clinic in town. The caring staff is available for both routine appointments and emergencies.
One of the best places to spend time with Fido is the Tuxachanie Hiking Trail just a couple minutes north of the center of town. The trail is perfect whether you are out for a leisurely stroll with your older pup or some energetic exercise with your new puppy. The campground along the trail is pooch-friendly, and even features picnic benches and a small pond. You can hike with the family along the trail through the Desoto National Forest and admire all the plants and trees. It follows along an old railroad where you will see wildflowers and wildlife, so be sure to keep your pooch on a leash.
When searching for pup supplies and accessories, stop by Serendipity Farm Company and see the friendly and helpful staff. The store provides all types of pup food and unique products Fido will love.
Whether you live in Saucier or you are visiting friends, Fido will enjoy the outdoor activities available in the area. The variety of campgrounds, parks, and hiking trails will keep you and your pup busy and entertained while enjoying the great outdoors.
Just fifteen minutes east of the center of town, the POW Camp Recreation Area is a puptacular destination for you and Fido. You can walk around the lake and admire the views or enjoy some primitive camping. Your pooch will enjoy sniffing the plants or rolling around in the grass while you fish or just enjoy the fresh air. The quiet area is perfect if you need to get away and enjoy some time with Fido. If you travel about five miles farther east, you will find the Bethel OHV Trail used by ATV and dirt bike riders. You can also spend time walking along the trails with your pooch, just be sure to keep Fido on a leash.
Seven minutes south of the center of town, Fido and the family can enjoy a staycation at The Country Side RV Park. The park is well maintained and features clean restrooms and a laundry room. You can walk through the campground with your pup on a leash and the kids can play in the swimming pool. Another option when looking for a place to camp is the Big Biloxi Campground just minutes south of Country Side. These campsites are surrounded by trees and there is easy access to a half mile hiking trail. You and your pup can walk around the campground and visit Fido’s furry friends, just be sure to keep him on a leash and bring your own doggie waste bags.
The County Farm Soccer Complex is pup-friendly and you can spend time in the grassy areas while your kids enjoy playing soccer. There is plenty of space to walk with your pooch on a leash and get some exercise while the kids play. There is a small playground where you can sit on a bench and enjoy a bottle of water and when games are in session, and a small concession stand for snacks. The grounds are well maintained, so be sure to bring your doggie waste bags and let Fido run around and enjoy a snifftastic time in the grass.
About fifteen miles south of Saucier, Campgrounds of the South is located in the town of Gulfport and is a pooch-friendly destination. The campground offers both tent and camper sites and the owners are friendly and helpful. You can walk through the area and chat with your camping neighbors and their furry family members or hang out by the fire pit and roast some marshmallows. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere is great for relaxing and spending quality time with your family and the paved walkways make it easy to give Fido some exercise during the day or even at night.
If you are visiting friends at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, be sure to take Fido to the Seabee Dog Park. The park offers separate sections for big dogs and smaller pups and is fenced and shaded. There is a water spigot to fill up a bowl for your pooch after he’s been running around getting his exercise. The park outside the dog park is a great place for kids to run off some energy and enjoy the outdoors. There is a golf chipping area in addition to a recreation center where you can enjoy a picnic with your friends and their furry companions.
