Ravenel Lake
The Ravenel Lake neighborhood offers pup parents a chance to walk and chat with other dog lovers. Ravenel Lake is also located here, and offers a lot of opportunities for outdoor activities. If your pooch likes the water, take a ride in a canoe. Stroll around the lake and let Fido sniff the plants and romp in the grass. Spending the day at the Highlands Biological Station is another great way to let your pooch have fun and work off excess energy. You can walk the trails here as long as you keep your pup on a leash and bring your own doggie waste bags.

Highlands Town Center
Located in the Town Center neighborhood, the Highlands Dog Park is an excellent off-leash area to let Fido socialize with friends. Pups can run around chasing a ball or just letting out puppy energy. The shaded pavilion and benches are perfect for dog owners to relax and enjoy the fresh air and a cool drink. Just be sure to clean up after your pup and keep the park looking great. When its time for lunch, head over to Bistro on Main, a pup-friendly restaurant where you can enjoy lunch or dinner with your furry pal.

The Cold Springs neighborhood is known for its horse friendly community barn and stables, and for all of the dog lovers who live in the area. Riding trails are available for pups to walk on leash, and a 10-acre fishing lake offers the perfect atmosphere for a lazy stroll with Fido in the evening. Families often spend the day outside with their pups enjoying the beautiful weather. A great place to stay with your pup in the neighborhood is Ray’s Roost. Since the home is on a private lane, your pup can run around and socialize with other dogs, or relax in the fenced side yard.

Situated along the Owl Gap Mountain plateau, the Highgate neighborhood is a private dog-friendly community. Walking through the neighborhood on well-maintained sidewalks, you and your pooch are sure to meet up with other canines and their owners. If you are looking for a yummy meal, take a walk to The Log Cabin where you can enjoy Italian cuisine with your pup at one of the outdoor tables.
