But ask any canine, and the best part of Spring Lake Park would be the fenced dog park. In this spacious, off-leash area, Fido is free to play with other pooches, make new friends, do his zoomies, and have fun on the agility equipment. There are separate areas for large and small dogs and running water is provided, but you need to bring your own dish.

Davidson Park is a favorite among the locals thanks to its numerous amenities, such as a playground, picnic shelters, athletic fields, and a splash pad during the summer. There's something for every member of the family here, including furry, four-legged ones. Pack some food and doggie biscuits so you and Fido can have a picnic while the kids climb over and under the playground equipment or cool off at the splash pad. The ample open space also makes Davidson Park a furrific place to take a leashed walk. You and your pooch will most likely encounter people playing basketball, tennis, or sand volleyball around the park.

Conveniently located on Main St, Harmon Park is a great spot to bring your dog, whether for a leisurely stroll or to get some exercise. There's more than enough room to walk or jog around and quite a bit to see, especially if there's an ongoing community event. Also scattered around the park are various wood sculptures made from dead elm trees. Just a stone's throw away from Harmon Park is The Coffee Post, a drive-up hut situated on a parking lot. Order a hot or cold drink at the window and enjoy it on the outdoor bench with your pup by your side.

The Western Star Complex is a dog-friendly and handicap-accessible park that houses an inclusive playground, an outdoor ice rink, baseball diamonds, and a walking track. The track encircles the ball fields, and completing the loop at least once will surely provide you and Fido with a good workout. Within walking distance from Western Star are two pooch-friendly hotels, Motel 6 and Marquis Plaza & Suites. The former welcomes 2 pets of any size at no additional cost, while the latter allows 1 pet up to 25 lbs for an extra fee. Be sure to call first to reserve a pet-friendly room.

Dakota Park is a puptastic spot to spend some quality time with your pooch. Go for a leashed walk around the park, or duck under one of the picnic shelters to simply hang out with your best pal. Dakota Park's other amenities include a playground, baseball fields, and a climbing rock. If you need to get your caffeine fix, take a short walk from the park to Meg-A-Latte Coffee House. In addition to gourmet coffee, this local cafe serves tea, smoothies, soup, and baked goods. Grab an outdoor table and enjoy a cup of joe with Fido by your side.
