Dog Areas in Intervale

Intervale is a small village in New Hampshire within the White Mountain range. This village lies in a resort community comprised of three villages. Intervale is full of dog-friendly people and is a great place to visit in any season. Though Intervale does not have its own veterinary clinic, there is one in the nearby town of Bartlett ready to serve any of your pup’s health care needs.

If traveling through, stop off at the small tourist rest area, at the intersection of Route 302 and Route 16. This scenic overlook of nearby Mount Washington and the Presidential Range in the Saco River Valley is a perfectly dog-friendly area with picnic tables and lots of grassy areas to relax and enjoy the view.

The Merriman State Forest, just east along the village, lies between Intervale and the border of Maine, and can be a wonderful hiking location. This 103-acre park has three different trails which lead to the top of Green Mountain with views of Squam Lake. Parts of these trails are considered difficult, so plan accordingly. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch and lots of water. Most importantly for your adventurous pup is that dogs are allowed off-leash here.

Although small, Intervale is a pawtastic place to visit with your pup!
