Hang out in the North Conway neighborhood and check out all the amazing parks that lie within it. The Schouler Park offers a grassy field that Fido can play fetch on, plus there are trees for shade, a playground, and benches for owners to relax on. The Rotary Park is a smaller park that offers benches for owners to sit on, and a nice circular walking path that you and your dog can get a walk in on. Keep your dog on a leash when you are visiting both of these parks, and don't forget to bring water along with you. Echo Lake State Park is a great 118-acre park that offers picnicking, swimming, and restrooms for owners. There are tons of hiking trails sprawled out in the park that you and your dog can use for a hike together.
Take your dog out on a great hike along the Thompson Falls Trail. This trail is great for any hiker since it is 1.1-miles in distance with a 124-foot elevation gain, on an out and back route. The hike will take you through the White Mountain National Forest where you will cross several streams and see three great waterfalls while you hike. The trail tends to be popular among other hikers due to the short distance and great views, so make sure Fido is up for socializing while out. When you are hiking, keep your dog on a leash as well. The trail starts in Gorham, which is ten miles out of North Conway.
The Crawford Notch State Park is a beautiful 5,775-acre park that is filled with amazing amenities your dog will be dying to explore. With mountainside hiking trails, waterfalls, and camping, your dog will have the time of his life hanging out in this park. There is a small creek that runs throughout the park that Fido can cool down in. Although the historic Willey House is in this park, your dog is not allowed in it. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash. The park is located in Hart's Location, and only nineteen miles out on Conway.
The White Mountain National Forest is a beautiful forest to take your dog to for exploring and hiking. With over 800,000-acres of preserved forest, your dog will love the mountain views and historic sites that are sprawled throughout this forest. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash while you adventure in this area since there is a lot of natural wildlife that runs throughout it. While hiking, there will be several creeks and streams your dog can play in. If your dog loves the forest, then take advantage of the camping area that is located here and spend a few nights under the stars. Located in Lincoln, and only eighteen miles out of North Conway, your dog will have a great time in this forest with you.
The Merriman State Forest is a great spot to take your pup for a great day out. The forest is filled with tons of hiking trails that you and your dog can go and explore together. Check out the Mount Kearsarge North Trail, which is 5.7-miles long with a 2,536-foot elevation gain on an out and back route. Throughout the hike, you will be shaded by trees until you get closer to the summit where it opens up. Don't forget to bring water. While hiking this amazing trail, your dog needs to be on a leash and make sure to occasionally check his paws since the terrain can get rough.
