Hi! My name is Karen. I am a huge dog lover, I've never met a dog I didn't love, and make instant friends with the pups I meet. I have had dogs my whole life, including now. I have a rat terrier as well as a super hyper chi-weenie that I rescued from running in traffic. While my dogs are small, I also foster dogs and most of the ones that come to me while awaiting a forever home are pit bulls or other misunderstood pooches. I love them all. I know how much you love your dog, and I will treat them like I would my own. I cant wait to meet your pup!

““WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?” I did! :)”

Hi, my name is Anastasia! I have 3 dogs: a tea cup pomchi and 2 huskies, so I can handle large hyper active dogs just as well as tiny fragile ones that require being extra careful. I do walks, daycare and boardings - if your dog is friendly, they will have a blast playing in a large fully fenced yard. Growing up with dogs since early age I barely spent a day in my life without them by my side, I’m not intimidated neither by breeds nor sizes.I am ready to spend some quality time with your dog :)

“Must hug all the dogs!”

I’ve been dog walking for several years now with over 1300 walks. I have walked pups as small as a rat terrier to as giant as a mastiff. I walk dogs with anxiety and dogs that are aggressive towards humans & other dogs. I have a few pups that I administer medication to. I take what I do very seriously and treat each dog as if they were my own. I’ve never had any incidents (knock on wood)! I have 3 dogs of my own, a Shia Inu mix and the love of my life, a sweet pitbull and a goofy/giant Golden.

“Flippin’ Pawsome Dogs Deserve the Flippin’ Best”

Hi, I'm Jackie and I've been a dog lover since birth...seriously, recently unearthed home movies show my parents teaching me to say "dog sit" at 9-months-old. In addition to Wag, I own my own dog training business. I own three dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier named Kid, a poodle/terrier mix named Charlie and a working-line German Shepherd named Grady. I look forward to meeting your pets and giving them the same care and love I give to my own dogs on walks.

Dog Walking in Bernardsville

Bernardsville, in years past, was the country destination for the wealthy needing a break from the big city.  Many New Yorkers ended up making Bernardsville their home. Today, it has all the small town charm but with a touch of big-city sophistication. The town's only veterinary hospital offers state-of-the-art laser treatment for arthritis and wound treatment.

Bernardsville also has several parks that a person with a pup will appreciate. New Jersey Brigade Area has a beautiful trail through some heavy forest. A wooden bridge takes you and your leashed dog across a sparkling creek. Beware, though -- bears have been known to frequent this park and surprise a hiker!

A safer alternative for a walk in the woods may be had at New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. This nature preserve has several nice trails through forest, plain, and wetlands. The rules do not allow dogs, unfortunately. However, people with dogs have hiked there without issue.

A quick stretch with your leashed pup can be found at the very small Bernardsville Recreation Department.  This small park has some green space for a short breath of fresh air. Two benches by a small pond give you and your furry companion a place to reconnect and relax.

For a nice lunch, head to Kings Food Market on Morristown Road. This restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches, including vegetarian and gluten-free options. An outdoor table awaits you and your four-legged friend.

The Ledgewood neighborhood in Roxbury Township is a short five miles north of Bernardsville. A stop at Emmans Park will put a spark back in Sparky! Roxbury Dog Park is one of the sweet amenities of Emmans.  This dog park has an eighth of an acre fully fenced for some off-leash socializing with some new four-pawed pals. A separately fenced spot for small dogs lets them play with friends their own size. Agility equipment can be found in the large dog enclosure, including a bridge and a tube-tunnel. The surface is pea gravel that stays usable even after a hard rain. Visitors need to pay a small fee to the city to use the dog park.

Human companions have many shaded benches from which to sit and supervise their dogs having fun in one of two separate, fenced sections for large and small breeds. The surface is mostly paved with a few patches of grass. Waste stations provide waste bags. The dog park is open from 9 a.m until sunset.

This dog park gives dogs some outdoor space to exercise without being confined to a leash. Two spacious, grassy enclosures give dogs a pawesome time playing with some furry friends their own size. Locals note the natural terrain is uneven and can be problematic for human companions with limitations. Dogs don't seem to mind it, though! A plastic tunnel adds to the fun of the place. Water is available on-site, and doggie waste bags are in good supply.

Mountainside is located twenty miles east of Bernardsville. A three-acre dog park at Echo Lake Park makes the pawfect outing for you and your furry companion! This dog park is fully fenced and has a separate fenced area just for the smaller canines. Your dog will love throwing off that leash and running with the pack of friendly fur buddies here. Numerous shaded benches give the human companions a chance to relax. A water fountain and dog bowls are supplied by the park, but you'll need to bring your own waste bags. The terra firma is made up of a mixture of grass and dirt, which can get muddy after a hard rain. Be prepared to clean up a dirty dog if you're visiting in bad weather!
