This neighborhood is home to Pleasant Valley Park, a popular place to take dogs for on-leash walks. While you’re here, you and your dog can go for strolls on the park’s 1.5 miles of woodchip trails. These trails take you through a wooded area and around sports fields. Bring some doggy bags and water, and have a pawesome day out at the park. If your dog is a good boy or girl at the park, treat them to a snack from Pupcakes and Pawstries Barkery & Shoppe. If you’re searching for a good place to take your dog for a long walk, check out Mountain Park. This Basking Ridge park allows dogs on-leash, and it has two trails: a 1.45-mile woodchip trail and a 1.7-mile paved multipurpose trail. Bring some water and doggy bags, and enjoy strolling through this beautiful park. If you’re hungry after the park, bring your pup with you to Trattoria Bolu. Wyoming in Maplewood is a quiet, residential area that has a woofderful off-leash area called South Mountain Dog Park. Located 20 miles from Basking Ridge, this dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs to play in. The dog park also offers agility equipment for your pup, including hurdles and ramps. If your dog gets thirsty, a doggy water fountain is available. After the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Cedar Ridge Café & Bakery. This park is about 32 miles from Basking Ridge, and it has separate areas for large dogs and small dogs that weigh under 30 pounds. The park offers fun agility equipment for your pup, and drinking water is available if your dog gets thirsty. If you want a sweet treat after the park, head to Carvel Ice Cream. Sourland Mountains
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to take your dog for an on-leash hike, head to the Sourland Mountain Preserve. This 4,000-acre preserve is 22 miles from Basking Ridge, and it has lots of puptastic trails you can explore with your dog. If you want to go on a long hike with your dog, try the five-mile Ridge Trail. This rocky trail takes you through a beautiful wooded area. If you’d like to go on a shorter walk, check out the 1.4-mile Maple Flats trail. Or, try the 0.5-mile pondside trail, which offers amazing water views. Whichever trail you choose, you and your dog are sure to have fun hiking here!
