Warinanco Park is located nine miles south of Plainfield. This park is a popular place to get outside in the woods and do some hiking. Dogs can enjoy this adventure as long as they remain on-leash. Warinanco has several dedicated trails with varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. Similarly, Watchung Reservation offers people and their leashed dog places to go and enjoy the outdoors. For more wilderness, people and their leashed dogs can visit the Great Swamp National Refuge just ten miles north of Plainfield
In town, the dog-friendly Brick House Tavern & Tap serves up some brew and bison burgers (among other tasty entrees). Plenty of outdoor patio seating is available for a person dining with a four-legged companion. Dessert of Italian ice or custard can be had at Rita's Italian Ice.
