The New Market neighborhood has numerous small parks where you can walk your dog on-leash. This includes Pond Park, a small park on New Market Pond with a lovely gazebo. There’s also Columbus Park, a slightly larger park that also offers beautiful views of New Market Pond. Spend the day park-hopping with your pup, and if you’re hungry afterwards, head to Gabriele’s Bar and Grill. This restaurant has a dog-friendly patio with twenty tables. They offer classic bar fare, like nachos, burgers, and wings. It’s easy to have a fun day out with your dog in the New Market neighborhood.

The Heights

The Heights

The Heights neighborhood is home to one of the largest parks in Piscataway, the dog-friendly 473-acre Johnson Park. This large park has a baseball field, two softball fields, eight tennis courts, two cricket pitches, a soccer field, and a farm with exotic animals. Johnson Park also has fitness trails where you can take your dog for a nice long walk on-leash. These trails go along the Raritan River and by the park’s two ponds. After your walk, relax in one of the park’s numerous picnic groves and enjoy an al fresco meal with your pup.

If you’re looking for a good off-leash dog park for your dog, head to the Whitman Avenue neighborhood in Edison, which is about six miles from Piscataway. Here, you can let your dog run free at the Metuchen-Edison Community Dog Park. There are separate areas for small and large dogs, and both areas include some fun obstacles and an agility course. Owners can watch their dogs play and run from the park’s canopy-covered benches. If your pup gets thirsty, there are water bowls and a water filling station available. Your pup will love getting to play at this dog park.

The Brookdale neighborhood in Bloomfield is home to the pawesome Brookdale Dog Park. This dog park is about thirty miles from Piscataway, and it has a 0.8-acre fenced area for large dogs and a 0.4-acre fenced area for small dogs. Both the large and small dog areas have equipment for your dog to play on, and they also have water fountains. If your dog gets a bit messy, you can easily clean them up at the park’s dog washing station. If you and your dog want some snacks after playing in the park, head over to the nearby Hot Bagels Abroad. This deli has a dog-friendly outdoor area, and they offer bagels and hot and cold sandwiches.

The Sewaren neighborhood in Woodbridge is home to the fun Woodbridge Dog Park, which is located within Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park. This dog park is about thirteen miles from Piscataway, and it includes separate small and large dog areas, agility equipment for your dog to play on, and a gazebo where owners can hang out while their dogs play. When your dog is done playing with their new friends, take them for a leisurely stroll on Williams Memorial Park’s walking path, where you’ll get to enjoy views of the Arthur Kill Tidal Strait.
