Mountainside
Garwood may not have any dog parks of its own, but you'll find a furrific one just three miles north in Mountainside. Echo Lake Dog Park is the place for a pup to play leash-free. This dog park has three acres of grass fully fenced so dogs have plenty of space to explore safely. A smaller enclosure is dedicated to the small dogs. While most of the ground is covered with all-natural grass, some spots of dirt can become muddy after a rain. Pups find this park pawfect for sniffing out a new furry pal. This park provides all the necessary amenities, including water and bowls, waste baggies, and comfortable seating. All you need to bring is plenty of energy to play!

Pups pawsitively love this fully fenced playground! This dog park features some equipment for active dogs to climb on and train on. Small dogs are kept safe in their own play area. The dog park supplies water and doggie waste bags, and the human companions have benches near the trees so everyone needs are taken care of here. A walk along the lake with a leashed pup makes for a relaxing bit of exercise. Your dog is sure to go mutts when she gets a whiff of that sweet lakeside air!

bellevue Ave
Brookdale Dog Park in Montclair, situated 18 miles from Garwood, is one of the most pawpular places with local pups. This dog park is a fully fenced graveled space for dogs to socialize and get some exercise. A separate area is fenced for the smaller dogs. Brookdale has a varied collection of agility equipment, which includes ramps, small platforms to climb, and other pieces to jump over. Lyndhurst City Limits
A twenty-two-mile drive north will transport you and your furry friend to Lyndhurst. Here, you'll find Riverside Dog Park. You're sure to hear a happy woof or two as you approach, since the local pups bark their praises for this park! Many dogs visit this fully fenced leash-free playground which provides separate areas for small and large pups. All the necessities are supplied as well, including water and waste baggies. Although your pup might not get all that dirty playing in the wood chips here, a hose makes rinsing off a cinch for a clean ride home. The human companion can relax on some shaded benches while the pup frolics with a new furry buddy. A supply of toys and balls are a bonus!
Morristown
Morristown is a little fur-ther afield at 23 miles away, but the short drive is worth it for Lewis Morris Dog Park. This park has a fully fenced, paved space for dogs to rid themselves of the leash and meet up with some canine companions. A small area is enclosed for the small dogs. There is some grass and natural terrain in parts of the dog park, but not much. Waste stations provide the necessary doggie bags for quick cleanups. The human companions have limited seating in the shade, which is a common complaint of the locals. If you're just looking for a quick stroll or some extra exercise, the main park has over twelve miles of trails of varying lengths and difficulty. Just be sure to keep Fido on his leash!
