This large recreation complex has a half-mile walking path you can explore with your dog, which will you past the park’s beautiful lake. Or, if you want a longer walk, try the 1.7-mile multi-purpose trail. This trail takes you around most of the recreation complex. If all that walking makes you hungry, the recreation complex has a picnic area in the woods where you can enjoy lunch or a snack with your dog. You and your pup will both have a pawesome time at this park!

Emmans Road

This Roxbury neighborhood is home to Roxbury Dog Park, a great off-leash area for your pup. Located just three miles from Succasunna, this dog park has one big field that’s covered in pea gravel to reduce mud. There are also lots of puptastic accouterments in the park, including a fire hydrant for your dog to sniff, and a bridge and tube for them to run through. While your dog plays, you can sit and watch on one of Roxbury Dog Park’s numerous benches. Bring water and a tennis ball with you, and have a fun time playing at this park.

Central Avenue

If you’re searching for another great off-leash for your dog, check out Central Park County Dog Park. This dog park is 11 miles from Succasunna, and it has separate areas for large and small dogs to play in. Both areas feature big fields with plenty of space for pups to run, play, and make new friends. There are also lots of trees to keep your dog cool in summer. Bring water with you, and enjoy playing in this park. If you’re hungry after the park, check out Carmel Haifa. Sit at one of their six dog-friendly tables, and enjoy delicious and authentic Mediterranean fare.

Old Denville Road

This Boonton neighborhood is home to Tourne County Park, a beautiful place to take your dog for on-leash hikes. Located 16 miles from Succasunna, this 565-acre park has two puptastic trails. If you want to go on a shorter walk, try the Short Loop to the Top of the Tourne, which takes you to the highest point in the park. If you’re looking for a longer hike, go for the five-mile Tourne County Park Longer Loop, which takes you to top of the Tourne and through a unique wetland. If you want a pick-me-up after the hike, head to Boonton Coffee Co. This cafe serves delicious coffee made using small-batch beans, and they offer treats and water for their furry customers.

West Morristown

This neighborhood has another pawsitively amazing off-leash area for your dog, Lewis Morris Dog Park. This dog park is 10 miles from Succasunna, and it has separate small and large dog areas. Both areas have grassy fields for your dog to run on, and they have areas that are paved with asphalt. Doggy bags are available in the park, but you’ll want to bring water for your dog with you. After the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Urban Table. Sit at one of their five dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy classic all-American dishes with modern twists, including pulled pork sandwiches, harvest cheeseburgers, and crab cake sandwiches.
