Sand Shore Rd

Sand Shore Rd

Some of the finest parks in Budd Lake lie in the Sand Shore Road neighborhood, which is why this area is so popular with dog owners. Camelot Park is a large and spacious passive park, and while there may not be any facilities here, this is still a gorgeous patch of woodland for a walk with Fido. Not too far away from here is the Lou Nelson Park, where you will find tennis courts, a playground, picnic benches, and open grassy areas for your pooch to sniff about in. If your pup prefers sand to grass, the Budd Lake Municipal Beach is also in this neighborhood. This small stretch of sand is open to the public in the summer months, although you will need to keep your dog on a lead at all times.

This beautiful park sprawls out for 805 acres, and features the Musconetcong River flowing through it, offering up pawtastic fishing opportunities. The park is home to a playground, picnic areas, a campsite and boat launches, as well as six miles of marked trails for you and Fido to follow. The trails vary greatly in length, from the half mile Fire Tower Loop Trail to the 2.8 mile Maze Loop Trail. Musconetcong River

Musconetcong River

The town of Stanhope is less than a mile from Budd Lake, and offers up some pawsome activities to enjoy with your pooch. One of the highlights of this neighborhood is the 20 acre Furnace Pond Park, which is home to the four acre Furnace Pond. There is a trail that loops its way around the pond, but keep in mind that the vegetation can often be quite overgrown here, especially in the warmer months. When it comes to the park's vegetation, there is quite the diversity here, from white ash and black cherry trees to garlic mustard shrubs and Japanese honeysuckle vines, resulting in such a tranquil natural setting.
