Watkins Glen is a village nestled on the southern shore of Seneca Lake, right in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes. Scenic parks and trails make Watkins Glen a furrific place to visit with your pooch. In case your furry buddy needs to see a vet, there is one animal hospital looking after the village's critters.

See and explore Watkins Glen with Fido by going on the 1 Mile Urban Trail! Start anywhere on North Franklin or North Decatur Streets, and follow the painted race cars on the sidewalks. The trail will take you and your doggo down the Main Street business district and along the waterfront. Getting back to where you began means you have covered 1 mile.

Worked up an appetite from walking around town? Head to El Rancho Mexican Restaurant and Grill to grab a bite to eat. Snag an outdoor table at their gated alfresco dining area, where you can dig into your meal with Fido by your side. Vegetarian entrees are available.

If you're looking for dog-friendly accommodations in Watkins Glen, book a room at the Idlwilde Inn. This Victorian bed and breakfast welcomes well-behaved, four-legged guests in the carriage house for an additional fee. There are only two pet-friendly rooms, so book early!
