Austinburg

Austinburg is a pretty flat area filled with old farmlands converted into city parks, which provides lots of places for dog-walkers to go. The College Street Park along Coffee Creek provides lots of open areas to run around in, tennis courts and a basketball area. Dogs are welcome in the park while on a leash and have access to benches and trash bins. Residents also like taking a stroll along the Coffee Creek Trail, a trail that follows the creek of the same name along the dirt trail and different access points to the creek's bank that allows Fido to go for a swim. Keep Fido on a leash and bring water and clean-up bags.

Jefferson Village Center

The Jefferson Village Center is 6 miles east of Austinburg in the city of Jefferson, and is pretty popular among Austinburg residents thanks to the Jefferson Dog Park. The enclosed dog park provides a safe place for Fido to run around off-leash in a fenced-in area. The park has benches, trash bins, and clean-up stations. The Ashtabula County Metro Park is in the northern part of the neighborhood, and features baseball diamonds and a perimeter trail made from gravel and concrete. Dogs are welcome in the park while on a leash, and can even run around on the diamonds as long as no players are using it. Owners will have to bring water and clean-up bags.

S Broadway

The Geneva Dog Park is a great place to go for dog-lovers of Austinburg, located in the small town of Geneva just 7 miles northwest. The park is on the smaller side, but includes a fenced-in area for dogs to run around freely off-leash, with a double-gated entrance, fire hydrants, and an all-grass terrain. Humans will even enjoy additional features like the clean-up station, benches, and trash bins. Although, for those looking for an inner-city option, visitors will enjoy the Kiwanis Park. The park is 15 acres of open space with a single baseball diamond, benches, trash bins, and water fountains for humans and leashed pups.

Northern Geneva

The Geneva State Park provides Austinburg residents with a dog-friendly, nature-filled adventure right along the coast, and only 11 miles north in the town of Geneva. The state park has 698 acres of forests, beaches, and open plains for Fido to enjoy. Enjoy the trails, or hang out on the dog-friendly portion of the beach with unrestricted access to Lake Erie. There are fishing spots, boat launches, restrooms, nighttime lights, trash bins, and water fountains. Dogs must remain on a leash shorter than 6 feet, and owners must bring their own clean-up bags.

East Ashtabula

Ashtabula is a larger town right on the coast of Lake Erie that provides Austinburg residents with plenty of dog-friendly parks in the neighborhood of East Ashtabula, just 11 miles northeast. The coastal park of Ashtabula Township Park is always a favorite among visitors, thanks to the beautiful lake views and paved trails winding through the neighborhood. Leashed dogs are welcome in the park, and have access to water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations. The Massucci Field is another dog-friendly place to take Fido, with lots of open areas for running around and exercising as long as all dogs remain on a leash. Be sure tobring your own water and clean up bags to the field.
