“I love kids in fur coats!”

My name is Ann! Dogs have always been part of my life. I learned to walk holding onto the back of a Bearded Collie,& my first word was Doodle, the name of our dog! I am a dog and cat mom. I have a 3 year old Anatolian Shepherd, Levi,& 2 cats,DonJulio & Elwood. Levi & I are very active. We run 5K's, hike, play with his friends, go to school, and snuggle together. My boys are my children in fur coats. I understand the love you have for your little (or big) family member. I'd love to walk your dog!

Dog Walking in Germantown

Germantown, just 14 miles southwest of Dayton, is a growing community with a small-town feel. The economy today is built on growing local business, after a much different history. The German settlers who founded the town in 1804 sought to build a grist mill, and as economic changes affected the area, Germantown became home to cigar warehouses and whiskey distilleries. Today’s residents value their furry best friends, and as such, Germantown boasts three veterinarians and clinics ready to keep your pup healthy and happy.

For a lovely afternoon, visit Germantown Metro Park. This 1,665-acre park features an underground nature center, elevated boardwalks, and miles of scenic trails that are particularly dazzling in the fall as the leaves change. None of these sniff-tastic trails are terribly long; they are great for casual walkers. There are also some steep stairs on one side of the hill if you and Fido are ready for more of a challenge.

While visiting Germantown, stay at the Old Mill Campsite, a large open group campsite for family and friend campouts. The campsite is near the trail system, which means you and your pup can spend your day hiking and collecting fossils, then return to camp for a great meal cooked and served outdoors. Your pup will wag-it-like-he-means-it when he finds out you’re headed to Germantown!

Riverfront Park, just five miles from Germantown, in Miamisburg, covers 7 acres of green space along the Great Miami River, and offers a long trail through the center for a pawsome walk near the river. Your pup will enjoy a round of fetch on the green space or enjoy a picnic. The park also offers access to the Great Miami River Recreation Trail. The trail is quite scenic with a smooth surface, and is well signed and easy at the southern end. The middle section (around Troy) has fewer signs, so be aware. The park is a short walking distance to Downtown Miamisburg's shops and restaurants.
