Osborn Recreation Area

Osborn Dog Park, or Erie MetroBark Park, is located just 10 miles away from Milan and offers plenty for you and your dog to do. This dog park has what every good dog park has: a securely fenced area that is divided into a small dog section and a large dog section. Water fountains are also available for thirsty pups. The numerous trees that make this place even more beautiful provide plenty of shade for the warm days. Benches are provided so dog owners can rest and relax while watching their pooches play. You'll have to purchase a permit if you want to use this park.

East Wakeman

If you're in the mood for something different and you're a wine lover, you'll be happy to know that, just around 16 miles away from Milan is the Matus Winery, which allows doggies on the premises. The winery is located on a farm that is 75 years old and has a huge selection of wines for you to try. For those of you who don't really like wine, the winery also has draft beer. Doggies are allowed outside on the grass as well as inside the tasting room! This dog-friendly spot often has bands to make the atmosphere even more lively, so make sure your dog can handle loud music.

Marblehead

Marblehead Lighthouse State Park is around 30 miles away from Milan and it's a place that you pawsitively have to visit! This park is a beautiful place to share a picnic with your pooch. Doggies have to be on-leash at all times and are not allowed to enter any of the buildings. There is a museum in the former lighthouse, which people are allowed to tour, but doggies have to stay outside. There are plenty of rocks for Fido to climb and there are also places where your pup can cool off and swim. Bathrooms are available too; just bring some waste bags with you.

North Ashland

Thirty-four miles away from Milan, you'll find the Peppy Paws Pooch Park, located in North Ashland. Like many dog parks, this one separates pooches by size and provides safe, fenced spaces for both large and small pups. The park has plenty of big shade trees which will make your adventures here even more pleasant, especially on hot days. There are some fun agility courses that your dog can enjoy, and there are also places where dog owners can sit and relax. The ground is mostly covered in grass. You should take some water and poop baggies to clean up your pooch's messes.

Kelleys Island (Kellys Island)

Kelleys Island State Park is approximately 35 miles away from Milan and it's another place where you can enjoy a beautiful sunny day with your pooch by your side. The park is located on Kelleys Island, and the northern beach and campsite are dog-friendly. There is also a dog-friendly trail on the island called the North Shore Loop hiking trail. Pets have to be leashed at all times and you have to clean after your pooch to keep the beach clean. To get to the island, you can go by boat, or you can travel on one of the ferries.
