Dogs that are kept on leash are permitted wherever humans are allowed, but for some off-leash entertainment, Silver Falls State Park also houses the Silver Falls State Park Off Leash Area where your pooch is allowed to sniff and explore off-leash in a designated space just for dogs!

Silverton

This family oriented neighborhood has plenty of shopping and restaurants and is easily accessible from Oak Street, Pine Street, or Main Street! Oregon Garden is an 80-acre botanical garden that features fun events, tours, art shows, weddings, and movie nights. They even have a special garden that is pet-friendly, so you and Fido can both enjoy the gardens and fun events like their annual Brewfest! Does your dog need gear? P’etcetera is a neat little store that sells harnesses, harness dresses, raincoats, hats, pajamas, booties, vests, and jewelry that will have your pup ready to face the elements or the runway!

Champoeg

Overlooking the Wilametter River and Champoeg State Park, this spacious locale offers locals privacy and access to some fun outdoor recreational activities! Champoeg State Park accommodates well-behaved dogs that are kept on leash, and invites them to enjoy their campgrounds, yurts, cabins, and hiking trails. There is a designated off-leash area on the property that has trails and a creek your pooch can enjoy; just make sure when they are off leash, they are in the designated doggie area! Another fun outing for active dogs and humans to tackle would be the 132-mile Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway that winds through vineyards, campgrounds, and breweries.

Wilsonville

Located along the north side of the Willamette River, the family-friendly neighborhood of Wilsonville offers family entertainment, golfing, shopping and outdoor recreation. Memorial Park has tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and a fully fenced, off-leash dog park! The dog park features different areas for large and small dogs and 2 full acres of land where your pooch can burn off extra energy. If you’re on the hunt for a dog-friendly restaurant in the area, you have plenty to choose from! Conveniently located off the Pacific Highway and South Ivy Street, this suburban area has good schools, tasty restaurants and plenty of shopping. Molalla River State Park gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy boating, fishing, picnicking, and hiking in a gorgeous and peaceful setting. They allow dogs kept on leash to hike the trails, or, for off-leash exploration, they have an off-leash dog area where your pup can freely roam; however, just be aware that this area is not fenced in, so it is important you keep an eye on your fur baby for their safety!
