South Silverton
The Oregon Garden is four miles out of Mount Angel in Silverton and a great way to spend the day with your furry friend. The Oregon Garden is a 80-acre botanical garden that features more than 20 specialty gardens, with one that is specifically catered to dogs. Their goal is to show the diverse botanical beauty of the Willamette Valley and the Pacific Northwest, and educate people on the gardens. The gardens hold special events and even offer fire pits, artisan vendors, and more. Make sure that Fido stays on leash while visiting the Oregon Garden.36

The Meadows
The Keizer Rapids Dog Park in Keizer is only fourteen miles out of Mount Angel, and a great spot to let your furry companion run around off leash and let off some energy. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs, plus 4-acres of space for your dog to run and play fetch. The park is made up of primarily grass with covered areas for shade, and benches for owners to sit on. If your dog still wants to explore after the dog park, take him around Keizer Park for an adventure. The park offers trails to walk around, plus a playground.24

Wheatland
For a pawsome day out, grab Fido and head over to nearby Gervais for the Willamette Mission State Park. The park is six miles out of Mount Angel, nestled in the heart of Williamette Valley, and offers more than 1,600-acres of woodlands, wetlands, rolling meadows, and working farmland. The park has a 5-mile bike path, a 7-mile horse trail, a 2.5-mile self guided education trail, and a 1-mile jogging loop. You and Fido can also picnic on the lake or bird watch on the Willamette River. The Willamete Mission State Park has just about everything you want to do at a park, but make sure you keep Fido on a leash while you visit.12

St. Louis
Gervais is home to the St. Louis Fish Ponds County Park, which is the perfect park to take your furry pal to if you want a relaxing day of fishing. The park is used mainly for warm water fishing and dog training, plus it offers picnic tables and water activities. The park is 21.87-acres, which gives you and Fido tons of space to wander and sniff around together. You are not allowed in the water at the St. Louis Fish Ponds, and camping is not allowed. Don't forget your water and clean-up bags while you visit.
