West Loganton
Two miles south of Abdera, in the borough of Loganton, you and your pawtastic pup can enjoy the day at the State Games Land #295. Locally known as Cherry Run Games Land, this area is perfect to hike with your fur-ever friend. There are vacant logging roads which provide excellent walking terrain, and these trails run for over 10 miles past streams and creeks. Although this is a rugged area, the routes are rated as easy and perfect for all pup-abilities. Be sure to keep Fido on leash throughout these multi-use trails and bring water.

Mill Hall
Visit the Bucktail State Park Natural Area in the town of Mill Hall, north of Abdera, a short 8 miles away. The Sinnemahoning Creek and the West Branch Susquehanna River converge here and are frequented by canoers and kayakers. For an amazing water adventure with your fur-ever friend, jump on the Susquehanna River Trail which runs for 228 miles! These are shallow waterways which make it a popular place to adventure. Fishing for trout is top-notch here. Your pup will love the peaceful adventure this boating opportunity offers. Be sure to pack plenty of water and food for this outdoor adventure.

East Loganton
Visit Rosecrans Bog Natural Area, in the East Loganton neighborhood, in the borough of Loganton, 18 miles east of Abdera for great outdoor adventure with your pawtastic friend. Here you will be immersed in 152 acres of scenic nature. Because this area is a high mountain swamp location, you will find plenty of interesting vegetation, flowers and trees. Your pup will enjoy meandering along its many trails with you. Be sure to keep your fur-ever friend on a leash throughout this natural area. Don’t forget to pack snacks and plenty of water to share.

Lock Haven
In the Lock Haven neighborhood in the city of Lock Haven, 11 miles northeast of Abdera, you will find Frank L. Taggart Park, which is the perfect location for a relaxing day with your fur-ever friend. This 1.75-acre area has beautiful open spaces to play with your pawtastic pup, and sports fields where Fido can run on an extended leash. Catch a game here. Or try Hanna Park with its 6.5-acres, sports courts and picnic pavilions. You can walk with Fido throughout the landscaped grounds with your pup on a leash. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available at both parks.
Appalachian Throughway
The Appalachian Throughway neighborhood, in the town of Lock Haven, 11 miles northeast of Abdera, offers a great place to take your fur-ever friend for a long walk. Jump on the William Clinger Riverwalk here which offers a 2.5-mile walkway meandering through the town and alongside the river. Scenic views are sure to please you and your pup! Along the way, you will find the Amphitheatre which offers summer concerts Sunday nights on its floating stage. This riverwalk is paved and perfectly designed for all pup’s fitness levels. Be sure to pack water and keep Fido on leash here.
