Northern Pike/ William Penn Hwy
The Northern Pike/ William Penn Hwy neighborhood is home to several different city parks, with Heritage Park being the one that dogs tend to enjoy most. This park is home to picnic areas and paved walking trails, as well as the Monroeville Dog Park, which is fully fenced off so that your pooch can safely run free off the lead. There are also doggie and human water fountains on-site, as well as a doggie bag dispenser, so all you need to bring with you is your dog! For another pawsome walk, head to Alpine Park, which extends out for almost 70 acres. In addition to the play equipment, sports facilities and picnic areas here, you will also find paved paths that are perfect for a leisurely hike.

Monroeville City Center
There are even more parks to be found in the City Center of Monroeville, beginning with Overlook Park, where you will find sports facilities, picnic areas and paved walking trails. The 35 acre Pioneer Park is another popular one, with picnic areas, sports fields and courts, a hockey rink, and paved hiking trails. At the south of this neighborhood lies Turtle Creek, where the city is currently developing a paved walking trail. Although this has not been completed, the trail corridor is still accessible, and pawfect for a scenic walk, but be sure to keep your pooch on a lead and bring some doggie bags and drinking water too.

Monroeville Blvd/ Oxford Dr
The Monroeville Blvd/ Oxford Dr neighborhood is quite a busy one, and is where you will find Bellwood Park. This park is most popular for its sports facilities, although there are plenty of green spaces for you and Fido to explore too. If your pup is feeling hungry, there are a few delicious dog-friendly restaurants located in this neighborhood. Rudy's Subs is a quite a historic joint, having been serving up their hot and cold subs since 1959, while Five Guys is a burger restaurant serving up all-American classics. For those looking for somewhere to spend the night, the Extended Stay America Pittsburgh Monroeville is not too far away, but they do only allow small breed dogs in their guest rooms.

Rico Rd/ Seco Rd
The Rico Rd/ Seco Rd neighborhood is home to the largest park in Monroeville. Boyce Park stretches out for over 1000 acres, and is home to the only downhill skiing and snowtubing hills in the entire county. There is plenty to see within this park, from the sports facilities to a nature center to multiple picnic areas with Boy Scout themes. With walking paths criss-crossing their way through the park, it is easy for you and Fido to really explore your surroundings. If you need a place to stay, the Super 8 Pittsburgh Monroeville is also in this neighborhood, and welcomes two pets of any size per guest room for a small extra fee.

Forbes Rd/ Haymaker Rd
For even more pawtastic walks, head to the Forbes Rd/ Haymaker Rd neighborhood. This is where you will find Kelvington Park, which is actually a forested area full of lush, green trees. The picturesque walking trail within this park is the ideal way for you and your pooch to explore your surroundings, but be sure to bring a lead, doggie bags and drinking water for Fido. Also in this neighborhood is Beechwood Park, which is home to sports facilities, a play area, and even more walking trails. Again, you will need to keep your pup on a lead here, but with so much greenery to sniff about in, he won't mind!
