Patrick is a godsend! He is such a great buddy for little boo that I d be confident to ask him to assist me in his puppy training even after just the first walk together. West Hills is home to Oquirrh Park, a furrific place to take your dog for an on-leash walk. This park has paved paths where you can take your dog for leisurely strolls. These paths will take you past groves of trees and open fields where your dog can roll around in the grass. You’ll also pass by the Utah Olympic Oval, an ice-skating rink that was built for the 2002 Olympics! Bring doggy bags and water for you and your dog with you, and enjoy seeing all the unique sights in this park.

Pebblecreek

If you’re looking for a great off-leash dog run for your pup, check out West Jordan Dog Park. Located seven miles from Kearns, this dog park has three fenced-in areas: two for big dogs and one for small dogs. All three areas have large fields for dogs to play in, and they have shaded benches for owners. If your pup gets thirsty while they’re playing, doggy water fountains are available. After the dog park, go for lunch with your pup at In-N-Out Burger. If your dog was a good boy at the park, treat them to a “protein-style” burger, which is simply a plain, unsalted patty. Your pup will love eating here!

Canyon Rim

Canyon Rim is home to Tanner Park, a great place to go hiking with your dog. This park is 14.5 miles from Kearns, and it allows dogs off-leash on many of its trails. As you go along these trails, you’ll pass by a creek where your dog can go for a swim. You’ll also go by beautiful fields where your dog can run and play. Doggy waste bags are available throughout the park, but be sure to bring water with you. You and your dog will both have a great time exploring this park’s peaceful trails!

Fairpark

If you’re looking for another fun off-leash dog run, check out Cottonwood Park Off-Leash Area. This park is about 11.5 miles from Kearns, and it includes one big, fenced-in field where dogs can frolic, play, and make new friends. There are plenty of trees to keep the park cool in summer, and there are lots of benches for owners to relax on while their dogs play. Doggy water fountains are also available to keep your pup happy and hydrated. If you want to go for a bite to eat after visiting the park, head to Chunga’s. Grab one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy classic Mexican fare, including tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and quesadillas.

American Villa

When you’re in American Villa, don’t make the faux paw of missing Sandy City Dog Park. Located 12 miles from Kearns, this dog park features one fenced-in area with a large field and a trail where you and your pup can go for off-leash walks. There are also fun boulders for dogs to climb on, and there are trees to keep the park shady and cool. Water is available in summer, but it’s switched off in winter, so be sure to bring water with you if you’re going in the colder months of the year. Your dog will always have a puptastic time at this park!
