Greater Avenues

The Greater Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City is located six miles north of Millcreek. Greater Avenues is a neighborhood with activities for you and your pup to do. Lindsey Gardens Dog Park is located on M Street. This small park has a designated off-leash area for dogs to play in, but it isn’t fenced, so be wary and practice caution. The entire park has some 25 acres of ball fields, playgrounds, and picnic sites for visiting with your dog. The off-leash area sits on a grassy hillside, and is not usually very busy. There is no water readily available, and waste baggies are not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own. Hungry? Head to Cafe on 1st for breakfast or lunch. Dogs with good manners to eat inside with their people!

Agricultural Park

The Agricultural Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City is located eight miles northwest of Millcreek. This neighborhood has many things to see and do with your pup. Cottonwood Off Leash Area, located at 1580 W. North Star Drive, is a fully fenced enclosure for your dog’s leash-free fun and socialization. The three-acre grassy dog park has trees and water on-site. There is no separate area for small dogs. Benches give the human companion a place from which to sit and watch their dogs. The main park has a nice walking trail that circles near the river, but your pup will need to be on a leash to explore it with you. Covered shelters make for some good picnic time with your four-legged friend.

Sandy

Sandy is located just ten miles south of Millcreek, and it’s home to the Sandy Dog Park. This park is separated into two sections. One side is gravel, and the other grass. One side is kept open while the other is maintained. There is no separate area for small dogs. There are water fountains designed for people and dogs, as well as benches, and big rocks for dogs to climb on. Doggie waste baggies are provided by the park, so all you need to bring is Fido’s favorite toy. Hours of the Dog Park are 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Need a place to crash while you’re here? Holiday Inn Express welcomes up to two dogs of no more than sixty-five pounds for an additional fee of $30 per night.

West Jordan

West Jordan is located nine miles south of Millcreek. West Jordan Dog Park has over three fully fenced acres for dogs to exercise and play off-leash. The dog park has three fully fenced sections. One area is set aside for small dogs, and the other two are for the larger dogs. The ground of the dog park is grass-covered. There are water fountains designed for people and dogs. Human companions have benches to sit on, and there are some covered areas for a bit of shade. Doggie waste bags are supplied by the dog park. That means you have everything you need to enjoy a fun-filled day at the park!

Draper

Draper is located fourteen miles south of Millcreek, and is home to the Dayland Dog Park. This fully fenced dog park lets dogs play leash free and make some new pals. It has a separate areas for small and large dogs. A small creek runs down the middle of the large dog section, and gives the dogs a chance to splash and cool off. Be sure to pack a towel! There are benches for the human companions. A hose provides a way to get a rinse down before the ride home. Doggie waste bags are supplied by the dog park. A walking trail gives a person and dog the opportunity to get some on-leash exercise together.
