There are quiet neighborhood blocks here where you can get a daily walk with your furry pal. If you want to enjoy nature with your pooch, check out Randolph Park off Alexander Road. This 87-acre facility includes ball fields, a playground, picnic shelters, and a nature area with walking trails. Hike around the pond on the outer loop path with Fido. Make sure you keep your pooch on a leash and pick up his droppings.

Claytor Lake State Park

Just 7.5 miles northeast of town, you'll find Claytor Lake State Park. This heavily wooded facility sits along the shoreline of Claytor Lake. You and your furry pal will find plenty of activities to experience together here. Bring a boat and launch into the lake to go fishing with your four-footed friend. There are pet-friendly campsites and cabins here where you can spend the night or weekend. Get some exercise while you're visiting by hiking along one of the park's trails. Leashed dogs are allowed to join you in most outdoor areas of the facility. Make sure you clean up after your pup.

New River is an unincorporated community that's located about 6.7 miles northeast of Dublin. This area along the New River includes single-family homes, a post office, and a church. There are quiet country lanes here where you and Fido can go for a stroll together. If you want to walk or jog along the river, head to Bisset Park in Radford. This facility includes some athletic fields, open space, picnic areas, and a trail along the New River. Dogs can accompany you here if they're on a leash and under your control. Bring water and waste bags with you.

A fun place to visit in this area is the Wilderness Road Regional Museum on Wilderness Road. Here, you can learn some history of the region. When you want to plan a getaway with your pooch, head to McGuire's Family Campground on State Park Road. This facility has tent sites and full hook-ups for RVs. Spend a night under the stars with your furry pal. Dog are welcome to join you here, provided that you keep them on a leash and pick up their waste.
