This puptastic and clean campground is a woofderful location to go hiking, walking, or wading in the Reed Creek. Lots of friendly folks frequent the Pioneer Village Campground thanks to the astounding hospitality by the owners. You and your pup will be welcomed like family! Just as a reminder, keep your pet and others safe by keeping Fido on a leash when outside your vehicle or tent. Give your doggoe a bone for being a good pup!

W Wind Drive

The town of Max Meadows offers you and your pup a wooftacular experience in the W Wind Drive neighborhood, located 3.5 miles off the freeway from Fort Chiswell. Here you and Fido will find the West Wind Farm Vineyard where you and your pup can taste wooftacular special wines. Try the blackberry dessert wine! Your pup is more than welcome to join you in the pawtastic and cozy tasting room, and the even cuter gift shop. You won't be able to resist the decor and lovely items for sell. While on the grounds, your pooch must always be well-behaved and at your side on a leash.

Pauley Flatwoods

If you wag south of Fort Chiswell, you will wind up in the Shot Tower State Park in Austinville. This park is a puptastic location to bring Fido for a historical adventure and breath of fresh air. The Shot Tower is 200+ years old and allows visitors to climb up the tower and learn about it with interpretive signs that provide information about it. Once used for making ammunition for early settlers, the Shot Tower is not a pawpular location to walk with your pup. You can even park at Shot Tower and walk all the way to the neighboring State Park that stretches over 50 miles!

Foster Falls Rd

Fido will love the Foster Falls Rd neighborhood in Max Meadows, thanks to the pawpular New River Trail State Park! Pack a day bag and head out to this puptastic location for a truly adventurous outdoor excursion. Explore on paw the 57+ miles of scenic meadows and forests which have dozens of hiking/exercising paths, horseback riding, canoe and boat rentals, and so much more! There's so much to do and see at the New River State Park, including the near 39 mile New River running parallel to the linear park path. So what are you waiting for?
