When it comes to getting away with Fido, there's no better place than the great outdoors. Wag to the Reed Creek Riverbend neighborhood located in the nearby town of Max Meadows to enjoy a weekend of relaxation and rejuventation at the Pioneer Village Campground. This puptastic and clean campground is a woofderful location to go hiking, walking, or wading in the Reed Creek. Lots of friendly folks frequent the Pioneer Village Campground thanks to the astounding hospitality by the owners. You and your pup will be welcomed like family! W Wind Drive
The town of Max Meadows offers you and your pup a wooftacular experience in the W Wind Drive neighborhood, located 3.5 miles off the freeway from Fort Chiswell. Here you and Fido will find the West Wind Farm Vineyard where you and your pup can taste wooftacular special wines. Try the blackberry dessert wine! Your pup is more than welcome to join you in the pawtastic and cozy tasting room, and the even cuter gift shop. You won't be able to resist the decor and lovely items for sell. If you wag south of Fort Chiswell, you will wind up in the Shot Tower State Park in Austinville. This park is a puptastic location to bring Fido for a historical adventure and breath of fresh air. The Shot Tower is 200+ years old and allows visitors to climb up the tower and learn about it with interpretive signs that provide information about it.
