Rural Retreat
Rural Retreat is a quiet town that includes single-family homes, public and private schools, and a small factory. There's a local winery in the area where you can enjoy a deli meal and some wine tasting. If you're looking for a furrific place to get away with your furry pal, head to Rural Retreat Lake and Campground. This 90-acre facility offers fishing, camping, and picnic areas. Bring your tent or RV and spend a night or longer with your canine companion. Hike along the trails along the lake or fish for muskie and bass. Dogs need to be on a leash at all times.36

Stones Mill
Located about 13.4 miles east of Rural Retreat, the neighborhood of Stones Mill in Wytheville is a small development of private residences. This area located by Reed Creek features wooded country lanes. If you're looking for a pawtastic place to go exploring with your four-footed friend, head south just 4.3 miles to Crystal Springs Recreation Area. The property features hiking trails, campsites, and picnic facilities on 1800 acres. You and Spot can enjoy a gentle stroll by the creek, or take the trail that heads over the ridges. Central Wytheville
