Pacific Downtown
The Pacific Downtown neighborhood offers you and your canine a grand time exploring the King County Interurban Trail. This trail, once known as the historic route of the Puget Sound Electric Railway, now connects the towns lying south of Seattle. With over 18 miles of mostly flat paths, the King County Interurban Trail is very pawpular among bicyclists and pup-owners out on a morning jog. It’s the pawfect place to bring Fido for a little exercise or just for fun! Leash laws are enforced along the trail. On a clear day, you might even get the chance to see the towering Mt. Rainier to the south!

West Lake Tapps
For more outdoor fun, visit the neighboring town of Bonney Lake and the local Lake Tapps for miles of scenic lake views. Take Fido to the West Lake Tapps neighborhood for a woofderful bark park at the Banker’s Spit Dog Park! Both the pooches and their owners who frequent this park are known for being super fur-iendly and welcoming. This 5 star park’s downside is that only members are allowed, so you’ll need to register before Fido can romp and roam freely off-leash, but it’s worth the paperwork even if you’re visiting for a weekend. If you don’t have time, there are plenty of pup-friendly paths around Lake Tapps where you can stroll with Fido on-leash.

North Lake
While in Federal Way, don’t miss out on the North Lake neighborhood for a furtastic time exploring North Lake and the local Lake Killarny Park. This little-known park is a local hotspot for doggoes and their humans who love to explore the great outdoors. At Lake Killarny Park, your pup is welcome to stroll with you, hike the extensive trail network, and even take a fresh dip in the lake! There are several water access points, but it’s wise to bring a full water bottle for you and Fido just in case. Don’t forget to bring clean up bags, and of course, Fido’s best leash!
