Downtown Sunnyside
You’ll find lots to do in the heart of Sunnyside; this rustic Washington town has delicious food and beautiful parks that make for an excellent adventure with your canine companion! South Hill Park is a modest community park that has a peaceful walking trail for you and your waggy friend to enjoy. The park is also a good location for picnics and has a covered pavilion with benches so you can rest your legs if you’re tired. Snipes Mountain Brewery is close to the park, and there, you can enjoy craft beer and delicious food at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Granger
Granger is a small town that is worth dropping by while you’re in Sunnyside. It lies on the east bank of the Yakima River, and it really embodies the western landscape Washington is known for. Don’t let its size fool you: there are many great things to do here for people with pooches! Take a walk around Hisey Park — it has two picturesque ponds and beautiful green lawns that can calm even the most restless minds. Granger City Park is another nice place to visit. It is a small community park, so you might encounter some local dog owners and make some new friends!

Grandview
If you travel southeast of Sunnyside, you will arrive in the modest town of Grandview. This is a great place to get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the beautiful Washington countryside with your furry friend! Dykstra Park’s wide open emerald lawns and charming walking paths make it a wonderful location for a picnic and light stroll. Euclid Park nearby on 2nd Street is also a good location for a promenade with your pawesome pal. Westside Park is also located on 2nd Street, and it is close enough that you can continue your walk from one park to the other!

Prosser
A great way to enjoy your journey through Sunnyside is to take the short trip south to Prosser. The town is less than fifteen miles from Sunnyside, and you’ll find a wide variety of dog-friendly activities there. Airfield Estates Winery offers dog-friendly outdoor seating, so you can sample their various offerings while you enjoy the fresh Washington air! To experience the natural beauty of the Northwest, try hiking the Lower Yakima Valley Pathway, a repurposed rail line. For a quick pick-me-up, Brewminatti on 6th Street has outdoor, dog-friendly tables where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea.

Yakima City Center
Found along the Yakima River that gives it its name, the town of Yakima is a dog-friendly place where people and their pooches traveling through the area can find lots to do. If you want to just sit outside with your dog and take in the town’s ambiance over a hot or iced coffee, head to Cruisin Coffee on Washington Avenue. Franklin Park on the north side of town is a great backdrop for an afternoon stroll: it is a medium-sized community park complete with an outdoor pool and tennis courts. You don’t want to miss 2nd Street Grill if you’re hungry — they serve delicious American classics and have dog-friendly outdoor seating!
