The City Center neighborhood of Wenatchee has plenty of urban parks and exciting places to walk with your pupper! One of the most pawpular among dogs and their walkers is the Wenatchee Riverfront Park. This picturesque 31 acre park is located along the shoreline of the Columbia River, and offers picnic areas, restrooms, a boat launch and plenty of grassy areas your pooch will love! This park is also the starting and finishing point of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail. This inter-urban trail is 10 miles long, and stretches along the Columbia River and scenic orchards, and is adjacent to the downtown area. The park and trail are multi-use, and welcome leashed dogs! Don’t forget the waste bags and dog biscuits!

Riverside Nine
Dog owners of Wenatchee love the Riverside Nine neighborhood for its places to hang with your best pal. This neighborhood is proud home to the Walla Walla Point Park, which features athletic fields, swimming pools, BBQs, and riverside trails. Best of all, within this park you can find the Badger Park off-leash dog area! For a small monthly fee, you can have 24 hour access to this puppy paradise! This dog park has drinking water, a toy chest, agility obstacles and swimming pools. Bags and pooper scoopers are provided, so all you need to bring is your happy pup. Your pooch must remain leashed when outside of the fenced in area. After some heart pumping exercise, go grab a bite to eat at The Dawg House at the Dog Park. This food truck offers coffee, sandwiches, ice cream and more.

Appleyard
Appleyard is a pretty neighborhood in the south end of Wenatchee that has plenty of access to the great outdoors. In the west side of this neighborhood you can find the Saddle Rock Trailhead. This trail is 2 miles roundtrip with a 920 foot gain. The steep climb is worth the challenge though! You and your dog will be able to enjoy the sights and smells of beautiful wildflowers along the way, wind through craggy, pointed rocks, and arrive to a sweeping panoramic view of Wenatchee at the summit. Your dog will need to stay leashed on the trail, because efforts are being made to protect the surrounding nature from erosion.

Sunnyslope
If you’re in the Sunnyslope neighborhood of Wenatchee, you can’t miss the furtastic Wenatchee Confluence State Park. Located at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Confluence rivers, this 197 acre state park offers tons of green space that you can enjoy with your active pupper. The park offers beautiful trails, picnic areas, restrooms, and even camping! The campsites include electricity and water. Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the park along with their humans. In this neighborhood you can also enjoy visiting an award winning winery with your pooch! The Chateau Faire le Pont Winery has a dog friendly restaurant with eight outdoor tables where you can swirl, sniff, and sip your wine alongside your dog.

Fifth-Springwater
In the Wenatchee foothills, accessible from the Fifth-Springwater neighborhood, you can find the Lower Castle Rock Natural Area. This 36 acre area offers short loop trails for hiking within Wenatchee’s gorgeous natural backdrop. Here you can enjoy views of dramatic basalt cliffs, canyons, wildflowers and shrub speckled grasslands. The trailhead is at the end of Castlerock Avenue, with restrooms, a sheltered picnic area and parking. Leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fresh air and exercise! As with many natural areas within Washington, you’ll need to stay on the trail and keep your dog leashed to avoid encounters with cougars and causing erosion. Dogs are welcome on the lower trails belonging to the city, but not on the private property higher up containing Castle Rock Proper.
