Owen Beach Road
This is a great neighborhood to visit if you and your canine pal are looking to spend some time near the water. This neighborhood is only 6 miles from University Place, is home to Owen Beach. While there is not an off-leash area for your pup here, there is a shell walkway where you can enjoy a nice stroll while your fur baby is on their leash. There are also some great picnic areas right near the waterfront. These areas have covered and uncovered picnic tables, grills, restrooms and a beautiful view of the water. Another plus is that parking is free! Grab your pup’s leash and prepare for a pawesome day at this beach.

Federal Way
This dog-friendly neighborhood is located 18 miles from University Place, and is a great place to enjoy the outdoors with your pooch. The French Lake Dog Park is a huge 10-acre, completely fenced-in park where your canine friend can sniff and explore everything off-leash. The terrain is so inviting for your pooch; there are hills, trees and sand pits for digging here. The trees provide nice shaded areas, and there are also picnic tables for you and your pooch to enjoy some lunch. Your pooch will love the small pond located here! There is an access fence to get to it, but once you are in, Fido will have a blast. A water fountain and waste bags are provided, so all you need is your pup's favorite toy to enjoy a day of fun in the sun!

Highland Park
This neighborhood is a great spot, especially if your pooch likes the outdoors. Highland Park in Seattle is located 39 miles from University Place, is home to the Westcrest Dog Park. This off-leash dog park encompasses 4 fenced-in acres, so there is plenty of room for your pooch to explore. The wide open spaces are perfect for canine pals to run around and romp. One side of the park is covered with shredded bark, and the other is covered in sand; your pup will love exploring both! There is also a gravel walkway that loops around the park for you to enjoy a stroll with your leashed pal. The park also provides a water fountain, but you'll need to bring your own waste bags.

Just south of downtown Tacoma, located 6 miles from University Place, is a great place for your dog to enjoy running around alone or with some other canine friends. The Rogers Park Off-Leash Dog Park is a large, off-leash, fenced-in park where your pooch will have a hard time getting bored! When your pooch is done playing, there are also trails for you to explore; you will just have to have your furry friend on a leash on the trails. This park also provides doggie waste bags so cleaning up is more convenient. Your canine pal will also get to enjoy the water fountain in the warmer months. Another perk is that you and your pooch can sit under the shade trees and share a snack at the picnic tables.

Puyallup City Center
If you and your pooch are looking to make some un-fur-gettable memories, this neighborhood has the perfect place for you! Just 15 miles from University Place is Puyallup Dog Park. This dog park is a small, completely fenced-in park. It is about 2/3 of an acre and is mainly dirt and grass. The park has some benches and plenty of trees for shade on hot days. Your pooch won’t be thirsty when drinking from the community water fountain after running around with canine friends. Grab a ball to enjoy a game of fetch, and don't fur-get to bring the waste bags!
