Charmed Dog Names

Piper is the name of an Airport K-9 who was stationed at Cherry Capital Airport in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. Surprisingly, Piper is a male dog, unlike the Piper in the show Charmed! Piper, a Border Collie, helped make the airport safe by patrolling the runways and making sure that there were no birds or other wildlife in the area that could cause problems for the planes and the passengers onboard. Performing wildlife control is rare at airports, but it can increase the safety for both humans and the animals. Piper would respond to reports of wildlife being in the vicinity of the airport and come running. He would even look for holes near the perimeter fence to see if new animals had gotten onto the airport's land. Piper got to wear aviation goggles and a vest to work, so he was always looking great on the job. Piper passed away on January 3, 2018. He was loved by employees, tenants, and visitors at Cherry Capital Airport, and he is missed.

Our second famous pooch is named after another Charmed sister. Phoebe the Dog was the star of the 1995 television show Wishbone. Phoebe played Wishbone, a Jack Russell Terrier, who led children on adventures through his daydreams about being the characters in some of the best stories in classic literature. While Wishbone was a male dog, Phoebe was actually female, but it seems that nobody noticed on the television show. Most of the show was filmed in northern Texas, but the setting of the show was a fictional town called Oakdale, Texas. In 2009, Phoebe the Dog also starred in a short film called Goodbye Bear. These are the only two productions that Phoebe the Dog was involved in, but most children from the 1990s will remember her as the beloved Jack Russell Terrier named Wishbone.
