Dog Names Meaning Champion

David and Wendy Cerilli own six-year-old Holster. All three make their home at a place known as High Goal Farms located in New York's Capital District. The lovely estate sits only about 20 minutes from the horseracing town of Saratoga Springs. Holster has always lived his life on the tranquil grounds with his beloved owners. 

On the farm, Holster isn't the only Australian Shepherd. He shares the lavish grounds with an elderly pooch named Orso. Wendy describes Orso as Holster's sidekick in crime. The duo spends their days getting into good-hearted mischief that keeps their owners on their toes. In addition to Orso, Holster also shares the farm with a menagerie of three horses, ten felines, a small furry bunny, and 13 other Australian Shepherds. 

Wendy brought her first dog into her life shortly after college. The pooch was a shelter dog that she called Chukker. However, as she states, Chukker appeared to enjoy pretending he was also an Australian Shepherd. Chucker is undoubtedly the dog that first got Wendy interested in agility. As she told Sportsnet about Chukker, “He’d just jump over everything,” Cerilli says. “You’d be sitting with your feet up on the coffee table, and he’d just run along and [jump your legs]. We’d take him to the horse shows at night, and he’d jump all the horse jumps.”  At that time, agility was a new sport, but Wendy was considering it. She looked at Chukker and wondered, “What can I do with this dog?”

Since 1997, Wendy has taught agility. At High Goal Farms, there is a large airport hanger where she trains. Undoubtedly, Holster is a special dog for Wendy. The dog has achieved greatness in the ring and earned his place as a true world-famous champion. However, Holster doesn't let all the hype go to his head. The pooch considers himself to be just one of the pack with all of the other Australian Shepherds that call High Goal Farms home. Wendy spoils each one of her beloved dogs. They are all a valued member of the family. At night, Wendy and her husband head to bed with all of their dogs in tow. The pooches share their owner's large bed at the end of a long day of happy frolicking and training on the farm.
