Introduction
Dog Names Meaning Creepy in Pop Culture
The animated film Frankenweenie by Tim Burton is a mixture of science fiction, horror, and comedy with some drama thrown in the mix. In this film the boy, Victor Frankenstein is an 11-year-old who has a dog named Sparky (a Bull Terrier) that gets hit by a car chasing a ball and passes away. The next day at school, Victor’s science teacher shows the class how electricity can bring a frog “back to life,” and Victor decides to try it on Sparky.
Victor digs his dog up from the pet cemetery, takes him home, and uses kites and a metal platter to lift Sparky’s body into the sky during an electrical storm. When Victor brings the body down, he sees that nothing has changed, but when he hugs him, his tail moves. Victor uses staples to fix Sparky up and enjoys having his pup back with him, even though he looks quite different.
Victor knows he has to keep Sparky a secret because people would not understand, so he tells Sparky to stay in the attic. However, a boy from Victor’s class named Edgar finds out and promises him that he will keep it quiet if Victor brings his fish back to life. He does, and the fish comes back, but it is invisible. Of course, Edgar does not keep the secret. He tells everyone at school and wants to enter his invisible fish in the science fair. Some of the kids and the girl next door sneak into Victor’s lab and decide to do their own experiments on their dead pets, with horrible results.
At the end of these experiments, there is a giant, killer rat, a Godzilla-sized turtle who squishes buildings, dozens of mean gremlin-like sea monkeys, and a cat that is fused with a bat. These creatures terrorize the neighborhood until Victor and Sparky save the day, but Sparky is crushed under a building and killed…again. The townspeople are so sad that Sparky died that they all get their cars, hook up jumper cables and attach them to Sparky, bringing him back to life…again.
This is a cute movie, and although there are some seriously gory scenes and violent undertones, it is a good animated film for older children and adults. The movie was a hit, with a score of 7.6 out of 10 on reviews and was actually nominated for 30 awards and won six of them including best-animated film by the New York Film Critics Society and best animation by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. Tim Burton said this was a tribute to a dog he lost as a child.
Dog Name Meaning Creepy Considerations
Anyone can name their dog Spot or Buddy, but you want to be different. It takes some time to think of a good name for your fur baby and, in fact, you might want to wait until you have had them at home for a few days before you pick a name. That way you can see what kind of traits and personality they have. Do they have any weird habits like raising one eyebrow at you or turning their head sideways to look at you? Or maybe they like to spin around three times before laying down. Some of their habits can help you pick a name.
How your dog looks can also help you choose the best name for your poochie. Dark and furry dogs can always be named Monster or Bigfoot, and little white dogs can be Casper or Snowball. But, if your pupster is one of those creepy dogs that seem like they are staring at you every time you turn around or sneaks up on you without making any noise, maybe they need a creepier name. We have come up with 60 of the creepiest names we could find for you to choose from, so good luck.
