Introduction
Dog Names Meaning Mischief in Pop Culture
Aladdin is the name of an animated cartoon about a mischievous boy who gets into all kinds of trouble with his genie. However, in this case, Aladdin was a two-year-old Pit Bull who was terribly mistreated before he was found in 2013 but ended up being a hero. Aladdin was found and brought to Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue where the owner Michele Shaffer-Stevens took him in and gave him veterinary care right away. He had two broken back legs, a broken tail, cuts, and bruises all over, was missing 12 teeth, and only weighed 18 pounds, so he was starving too.
It took a while, but Aladdin was able to recover, and within the year he was getting certified to be a therapy dog. Michele decided that Aladdin would be an excellent candidate for therapy visits because he loves people. Even after all of the abuse, Aladdin suffered at the hands of humans, he still trusted and loved people very much. He seemed to be able to calm others with his easygoing personality, and even though he had a mischievous name, he never misbehaved.
Aladdin has been a therapy dog since 2015, and he is even a Ronald McDonald House Ambassador dog. He and his owner, Michele, have an anti-bullying program at area schools, work with special needs children, he is an ambassador at Tito’s Vodka for Dog People Campaign, and is a member of PACT for Animals. He is also an ambassador for Show Your Soft Side, works as a crisis response dog, and works with the Philadelphia Police raising funds for the Fallen Officers Fund.
There isn’t much that Aladdin doesn’t do. In fact, he has raised more than $300,000 for shelters and rescue operations and works with Veterans as well. He also helped over 300 college students destress at the Rutgers University De-Stress Day. At one of Aladdin’s most recent visits at the Tatum Fair, they had a program where children with disabilities took turns reading to Aladdin, and he even had his own kissing booth. He was also recognized and nominated by Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food for Hero Dog of the Year in the American Humane Society’s Hero Dog Awards program. And, yes, he ended up winning the award because he really is a true hero.
Dog Name Meaning Mischief Considerations
Having a pooch that likes to be bad to the bone is sometimes exasperating, but more often it is just funny, as long as it is not dangerous or destructive. Especially with young dogs. They tend to do some of the silliest things that we cannot help but laugh such as stealing your socks or chewing on anything they can find. Unfortunately, you need to set the rules early so they will learn not to do these things, but you may as well give your pooch a name that means mischief since that is what your pup seems to enjoy doing.
Certain breeds are more prone to being mischievous such as the Affenpinscher, Tibetan Terrier, Lhasa Apso, Rat Terrier, Havanese, Schipperke, and the Pekingese. Although any dog breed can be a little bit bad sometimes, especially when they are young, it could be that they just need a little bit more play time from you. So, although it is cute when they drag your purse from the couch into the other room to play with it, that may not be what you want them to keep doing so you can give them a mischievous name but make sure they know what the rules are too.
