Dog Names That Start With Ot in Pop Culture
Otis is the name of the Pug in the movie Milo and Otis. He is our featured famous pooch with an Ot name, because he stole the hearts of millions after the release of the 1986 movie. The original version of the movie is Japanese, but after removing 15 minutes of film, the movie was re-released for an English audience narrated by Dudley Moore and released in 1989. The movie is focused on an orange tabby cat named Milo and a Pug named Otis. Otis finds Milo, who is too curious and has wandered off. Milo is playing in a box that starts to float down a river, and Otis notices him and chases after. Together, the animals get themselves into all kinds of trouble, but they always manage to find a way out, although Otis is usually a little ways behind Milo. Eventually, they both find mates, separate to start families, and find each other again at the end of the film.
Since its release, the movie has experienced some controversy. Many people believe that numerous kittens and dogs were either injured or killed during the filming of the movie.
Our second featured famous dog is Otto the Skateboarding Bulldog! Ott has the Guinness World Record when he skated through the legs of 30 people in his hometown of Lima, Peru, in 2015. Otto's owners were inspired by Tillman, who was once determined to be the fastest dog on a skateboard by Guinness World Records. Otto has a Facebook page with more than 65,000 likes and was nominated for the "Hot Dog" of the Year in 2015 for the World Dog Awards. Otto's a natural skateboarder just enjoying his wheels!
Another Otto, also a Guinness World Record Holder, is a British Dachshund-Terrier cross. At the time of his passing in the United Kingdom in 2010, he was the world's oldest dog and was just 21 days short of his 21st birthday. This translates to 146 dog years! Lovable and affectionate, owners Peter and Lynn Jones say he was active for his age even though he was suffering from a stomach tumor at the end. They adopted Otto when he was 6 months old.
Dog Name that Starts with Ot Considerations
As you start to think up names for your new pooch, you should probably start to think of a few different things that are important to you. Do you want your dog to have a name that describes their personality? Have you considered a name that describes the way that your dog looks? Most importantly, have you considered whether or not you love the name? Don't forget that you are going to be repeating this name over and over for the rest of your dog's life, so it needs to be something that you love.
When trying to come up with the perfect name, you can base it on your dog's personality. Do you have a dog that loves to swim? Why not choose the name Otter, because otters are great swimmers?
If you want a name that describes your pet's appearance, you might like Otaria for a pooch that looks like a sea lion or similar creature or Otozoum for an exceptionally large pooch, because it is the term for a group of giant extinct animals.
At the end of the day, your dog's name should just be something that you love. If you are interested in a name that starts with "Ot", look no further than our list!
