One of the most famous dogs of the early 2000s was Tinkerbell, Paris Hilton's tiny, blonde Chihuahua. Tinkerbell was considered a fashion accessory to one of the most influential young women of the time. She was so famous that when Paris Hilton launched a perfume line, the perfume came with small, stuffed versions of the pooch. The pooch was also the canine star of the TV series The Simple Life, which starred Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Tinkerbell often attended parties and walked the red carpet with her heiress mother.

When, in 2004, Paris Hiltons' apartment was broken into, Tinkerbell was missing for six days. Paris offered a $5,000 reward for her beloved pooch. This adorable Chihuahua was born in 2001 in Athens, Greece. Paris adopted Tinkerbell after watching the movie Legally Blonde, in which the main character owns a Chihuahua named Bruiser. Tinkerbell sadly passed in 2015 at the age of 14.

The book series, by Enid Blyton, started in 1942 with Five on a Treasure Island. The series follows children Julian, Dick, Anne, and Georgina, and their dog Timmy. Timmy belongs to Georgina, who is a tomboy who goes by George. Timmy is described as loyal. Throughout the series, George gets upset when anyone makes fun of Timmy. At the beginning of the series, George's parents forbid her from keeping Timmy, but by the end of the series, they allow her to bring the dog in the home. When Timmy wasn't allowed to live with George, he stayed with a fisher boy named Alf in the village. George is clever, affectionate, and friendly. Timmy is beloved by the group and provides them with physical protection.
